U Oqflpzaciafion MRS. EMILY KENT MANVILLE Mrs. Emily Kent Manville was a Crete teacher for twenty-three years, eighteen of which, 1887- N05, she was principal of Crete High Svhool. Mr. A. A. Reed said of her: lt was a revelation of the power of u personality to witness her work in the class room and in every phase of school life. She was at remarkable instructor, giving every topic the magic touch of inspiration. Kceping fully ahreust of educational thought and progress, her splendid preparation, rich experi- ence and mature judgment rendered her a most valuable member of the teaching corps. Her deep sympathy with young life not only hound the pupils to her with an affection that was the life of the school but also reacted upon her, keeping her young in spirit. This was thc secret ol her WOllCl0!'flll influence in srhool and com- munity. Her work remains: and her memory is safe in the hearts ol the many' whose lives she it Miss ETTA SCHROCK Miss Etta Schroek was rt teacher in the pri- mary room of the East Ward from l896-1929. She held a very special place in the esteem and affection ol' all her pupils going to school for the first time and of all the parents sending their children to school for the Grst time.
