CRESTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL The Class of 69 Thanks You for Memories . . . . for the excitement of each of the Homecomings beginning with the loosely put together toy train of our sophomore year which nearly blew away during the football game. . . . for those walls of C.H.S. which we saw, heard, and felt go up while we were supposed to be solving math problems or putting commas in the right places of an unpunctuated paragraph. . . . for the castle (?) we built for the winter festival in our sophomore year. . . . for the two winter festivals that were “‘sunned” out. . . . for our Mother Goose who won first place in the Homecoming float competition in our Junior year. . . . for “Shangrila’—our Junior Prom. . . . for the many teacher board disputes which delayed the beginning and the end of the school year and the misunderstood walk-out which took place because of it. . . . for winning the float competition again in our Senior year with a parrot that was chew- ing a tiger—and the victory over Garden City West. . . . for the anticipation of having a reunion with the previous grad classes at the Senior Tea. . . . for having classes in “the Pit” (choir room), in the church, on the stage, in the cafetori- um, and the faculty dining room. . . . for a mass water fight on the senior trip which almost got us kicked off of “Jack and Jill Ranch”. . . . for the best turn out at a perfectly beautiful Senior Prom. . . . for threats of not getting a cap and gown until all fines were paid. . . . for the standing ovation we received as we left the honors convocation. . . . for graduation practice on the football field during a tornado watch. . . . for that one rare moment, which will never come again, as we were handed our diplo- mas with over two thousand persons looking on. These memories are now a part of us. THE CLASS OF ’69
