3 Mr. Russell L. Waters, new principal at Creston High School, looks up to welcome a student to his office. Transferred last fall from Burton Junior High School, Mr. Waters has already made himself an integral part of the school scene. Miss Dorothy H. Lawyer in her capacity as assistant principal does much of the detail work of administration of the school, but still finds time to welcome with a smile and a word of greeting all who come to her office. Mr. Russell L. Waters assumed the task of leading Creston's faculty and student body when he undertook his duties as principal this fall. He replaced Mr. Howard W. Wickett who was promoted to the position of Director of Secondary Schools of the City of Grand Rapids. Mr. Waters has worked with teachers and students to try to make Creston an even better place in which to go to school. One of his particular fields of interest is athletics, and he hopes to bring new spirit and life to the teams which represent our school. He is being ably assisted in the task of ad- ministration by Assistant Principal Dorothy H. Lawyer. In addition to many routine adminis- trative jobs, Miss Lawyer finds time to counsel Qalmfflgiellfa regarding both ffadsmigalgi personal problems. M Both Mr. Waters and Miss Lawyer are inter- ested in Crestonls students and in their activities and try to help them in every possible way as they proceed on their path to becoming mature and intelligent citizens -- first of Creston, then of Grand Rapids.
