Dave Houk, Presidentg Dave Fleming, Vice Presi- dent, Joan Pennington, Secretary, janet Van Wingen, Treasurer. Graduates of I954 On June 10 at Fountain Street Baptist Church, another graduating class will re- ceive their diplomas-the class of '54. These diplomas are symbols of the years that were spent at Creston, the busy but exciting years. As sophomores, they presented the Daisy Dip with the theme centering around May Day. The junior year was one of the busiest, and it included such events as the Harvest Hop, Amateur Hour, and the un- forgettable Junior Revue with Alice In Wonderland asfthe theme. That year ended with the memorable Prom which was held in the Pantlind Hotel Ballroom. Then came the last step of the ladder, the senior year which proved to be the most exciting be- cause they were striving for a goal-to present to Creston a Hammond Church Organ. Jay J. Rens with his patient cc?- operation and class members with their un- ending enthusiasm promoted such projects as the Mid-term Mingle, Workday, and the Senior Boys vs. Faculty basketball game, in order that their dream might be realized. When the senior play was chosen and cast, everyone in the class knew that there would be hard work to make the play a tremen- dous success so that the organ could be in- stalled. On March 11 and 12 that's just what happened. Gramercy Ghost was a rollick- ing, hilarious, tremendous success. Many thanks went to Miss Lois Conrad for her magnificent directing. At the end of April, the sound of organ music could be heard throughout the halls. In May the banquet was held at Second Congregational Friend- ship House. Dress-up Day was the last event of the year. Thoughts, then, turned to college in the fall, or working opportunities. Yes, the seniors of '54 were looking ahead- looking to the future. One can be sure, though, that their years at Creston will be remembered forever. 12
