If you wanted a laugh from the audience you Called on Connie Sampanes, who was in the choir, Courtesy Squad, junior Revue, one-act plays, senior play, and Gloria. Connie was a member of the Footlights and A. B. Quiet and reserved was Lois Scheele, who was active in the Courtesy Squad, junior Revue, and Girl Re- serves. Lois earned her letter and numeral in gym. Blond, shy, and friendly, Edwin Schollart was in the Courtesy Squad, Gloria, and Hi-Y. Muriel Edna Scott was in the junior Revue, P.T.A. carnival, and the Hiker's Club. Muriel was in the stage crew for Gloria, the one-act plays, and an usher for the senior play. jean Seys was in the Stage crew for the senior play, in Gloria, choir, Courtesy Squad, and the Hiker's. jean was especially interested in choir and football. Man about school Nate Slack was in the Courtesy Squad, senior play, Junior Revue, debate, Saga, Hi-Y, C Club, football, manager of the basketball team, and business manager for the choir. Handsome and popular Dick Smith was on the Courtesy Squad, baseball, basketball, and football teams, and a member of the C Club. Biff won all-city honors and all-state honorable mention in football. Quiet and friendly was Robert Smith. Bob was manager of the baseball team for two years, manager of the basketball team, treasurer for the Camera Club, and a member of the C and Hi-Y Clubs. Nancy Smitter, who ushered for the senior play, and was a member of the Senior Girl Reserves, was the possessor of pretty, long, blond hair, Happy and care-free. Louise Spahr was on the Echo and Saga staffs, in debate, Courtesy Squad, call girl for Gloria, and in A.B. and Footlights. Betty jane Stellard was a pretty and nice addition to the class. Betty was in Gloria, choir, Courtesy Squad, and treasurer of the Hiker's Club. Frances Stocks, who earned her numeral and letter in A.B., ushered for Gloria and the junior Revue, appeared in the Girls' Meet, and worked on properties for the one-act plays. Vivacious and loquacious, Mary Ida Stone was active in the a cappella choir, Gloria, one-act plays, and junior Revue. Virginia Sutton, who was in the Courtesy Squad, had a yen to become a secretary. Shirley Swart foh, those naughty eyesj, was active in the Girl's Meet, Courtesy Squad, Gloria, Senior Girl Reserves, Student Council, A,B. and the Hiker's.

Reserved, friendly, and a loyal friend was Arlene Petr, who was in the Girls' Meet, junior Revue, A.B., and Senior Girl Reserves. What little Model A ever got around more than the one that belonged to Virgil Phelps? V1rg was in the band, junior Revue, and a member of the Hi-Y. june Post, a quieter member of the class, did her bit by being on the make-up committee for the one- act plays, stage crew for Gloria, and was a member of the Spanish Club. Delores Rawson was one of those quiet, nice-to- know girls. She belonged to the A.B., Courtesy Squad, Girl Reserves, senior ushers, and was an Echo typist. She appeared in the junior Revue and worked in the school office for two years. A hner person could not be found than Maurice Reed. Maurie was in the choir, Gloria, debate, senior play, junior Revue, Courtesy Squad, and on the Saga staff. He was also president of the junior class, treasurer for the Latin and Science Clubs, president and treasurer for the Student Council, treasurer of the Senior Honor Society, head senior usher, and a mem- ber of the Hi-Y. Quiet and serene, Thelma Reed was in the Courtesy Squad, A.B., and Hiker's Clubs, secretary of the choir, treasurer for the Girl Reserves, and on the Echo staff. Loquacious and friendly, Iris Richmond was in the choir, one-act plays, and Gloria.. Esther Ritzke flashed a dimpled smile at everyone. Esther was in the choir, Junior Revue, Gloria, and vice-president of Amicitia. She earned a C , numeral, and all-city honors in A.B. Club. Craig Robinson, who came from Central in the eleventh grade, was interested in mathematics and science. A few of the fellows caught in a car full of the usual decorations. Fellow students on Creston's steps. Edwina Robinson, that petite and charming R.O,T.C. sponsor, was in the Junior Revue, Footlights, Bars and Chevrons Clubs, and on the Echo and Saga staff. Barbara Romkema, a quieter member of the class. was active in the Courtesy Squad, junior Revue, Girl Reserves, Latin, Hiker's, Horizon, and A.B. Clubs. A good student was Anna Marie Rose, who was in the Courtesy Squad, Senior Ushers, junior Revue, both Honor Societies, and in the senior orchestra for tive years, Anna was also a member of the Library Club and president of the Latin Club. There was lots of fun when Richard Rose was around. Dick was active in the band. secretary and treasurer of the C Club, and secretary of the Hi-Y. Dick won all-city honors in track. Frank Rosenzweig was on the top of everybody's party list. Frank, now serving in the Navy, was on the basketball team and a member of the C and Hi-Y Clubs. Arlene Rowe, who liked to spend her leisure time playing the piano, was an usher for Gloria, on the make-up committee for the one-act plays, and a mem- ber of the Spanish Club.

Barbara Sweeney, who was a member of the Girl Reserves, Hiker's and Latin Clubs, was never seen without that black, wavy-haired companion. Marilyn Taylor was always in a big hurry. Melt was in the Courtesy Squad, Gloria, Senior Girl Re- serves, Student Council, Glee Club, choir, and an usher for the senior play. A welcome member to the Honor Society was Fred Ten Hoor. Fred was also a member of the Creston Model Airplane Club. Short and sweet, Elizabeth Terkeurst was active in the Courtesy Squad, Girls' Meet, junior Revue, A.B., and Senior Girl Reserves. For she's a jolly good fellow - Rosemary Thiebout was active in the Courtesy Squad, junior Revue, Student Council, Hiker's, Senior Girl Reserves, and the Footlights. Especially popular with the opposite sex was Jeanne Thompson. Jeanne took part in the junior Revue and Girls' Meet. A member of the Choir, Girl Reserves, Footlights, Courtesy Squad, and Senior ushers, was energetic Edna Tickner. She was in the Girls' Meet and helped on committees for several plays. Charlene Tierney was a good example of a little girl made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Chuck was in the junior Revue, Glee Club, choir, Courtesy Squad, and Girl Reserves. Sophistication and gaiety were two of the charac- teristics of Patricia Titus. She appeared in the Junior Revue, Girls' Meet, Gloria, and belonged to the Choir. Charming Ruth Vander jagt was a member of the Courtesy Squad, A.B. Club, Amiticia Club, and helped on a committee for the senior play. Cheerful and sweet, Lois Vander Kooy was an Echo typist, member of the Glee Club and was in the Girls' Meet. She was particularly interested in art. Happy-go-lucky jean Vandervoord was a member of Footlights, A.B., Amicitia, Hiker's, Courtesy Squad, and Glee Club. She was assistant director for the senior play and was in the Junior Revue, Gloria, and helped with the one-act plays. Will anyone forget jacquelyn Van Hartum as Gale joy in the senior play? jackey was in the junior Revue, Courtesy Squad, Gloria, and the Amicitia, Footlights, and A.B. A charming personality was possessed by Christine Van Holstyn, who was in the junior Revue, Courtesy Squad, Girls' Meet, and an Echo Typist. Tina was a member of the Senior Honor Society, Library, and Presidents' Clubs. A small girl with a big smile was Bonnie Van Houten, who was in the Courtesy Squad and the Senior Girl Reserves.
