Joyce Ann Meyer's long, chestnut-colored hair made her the envy of many a class mate. She was a member of the A,B., Footlights, Hiker's, various committees, and appeared in the Junior Revue. Vice-president of the senior class, Lee Meyers jr., was managing editor of the Echo, vicefpresident of the Student Council, treasurer of Latin Club, lieutenant in the R.O.T.C., a member of the Hi-Y, Courtesy Squad. Bars and Chevrons. and lunior Honor Society. He was in Gloria and the junior Revue, and won letters in tennis and track. You usually could find good-humorecl james Clifford Mieras at the bookstore. Cliff was a tive-year member of the band, a member of the orchestra and HiAY, and appeared in the junior Revue and one-act plays. Always busy was Lenora Rose Mieras, who appeared in the junior Revue, junior Amateur Show, one-act plays, and Gloria. She had membership in the choir, Courtesy Squad, Hikers Footlights, and Student Council. Attractive, dark-haired Erma lVliller was friendly and a friend worth having. She could usually be found soda-jerking at joppeesl There is charm in her quietness. Eleanor Miner was in the junior Revue and Gloria. She belonged to the Courtesy Squad, choir, Girl Reserves and Latin Club. Eileen Morgan loved adventure and fun. She was in the Library Club and Courtesy Squad, and appeared in the Girls' Meet and junior Revue, as well as serving on various committees. jack Moroski was the class dream man . Moe was a member of the Courtesy Squad, C Club, and a wellfknown member of the football team. A quiet, nice to know girl was Beverly Morris, a member of the Library Club, Senior Girl Reserves, Red Cross, and A.B. She appeared in the junior Revue. Two mid year graduation scenes. Gordon Gravelyn receiving his diploma. A shot from the wings. Always ready for a good time, Barbara Nielsen participated in the Girls' Meet, junior Revue, and one-act plays. She was also a junior usher. Martina Nortier, who was a member of the junior Girl Reserves and the Glee Club, was happy when roller skating. She was especially interested in com- mercial subjects. lt's impossible to imagine Leo O'Donnell when he wasnt laughing and joking, Leo was in the Junior Revue. and machine shop was his favorite subject. Wallzrce Pearson, whose hrst love was playing the piano, was active in the orchestra, Gloria, baseball. and was the drum major in the band. XX'ally was also a member of the C Club. Equally friendly with both sexes, Berdan Peck was in the senior play. band, Gloria, and the Courtesy Squad. Berdan was on the Echo staff and a member of the Hi-Y. David john Peterson, a fine fellow with an engagf ing smile, was vice-president of the choir, in debate, and Gloria.

Mary Louise Lettinga was in the Junior Revue, one- act plays, senior play, Courtesy Squad, and the Echo staff. Mary was a member of the Hiker's, Library, A.B., and Footlights. A sweet loyal friend was Leslie Lewis, who partici- pated in debate and speech, and was a member of the Courtesy Squad, and Hiker's Club. Endowed with a calm, sweet charm was Laura Lindsay, president of the Senior Honor Society, on the Saga and Echo, co-ordinator of war council, and a member of senior ushers, Hiker's, Junior Honor Society, and appeared in the junior Revue. Always ready to laugh was Doris Mc Clain, a mem- ber of the Hiker's Club, A.B. Club, Student Council, Senior Girl Reserves, senior ushers, and Courtesy Squad. She also appeared in the junior Revue. Although considered quiet by many of his class- mates, William McClymont was a fine fellow. He was doorman for Gloria and a member of the R.O.T.C. and Bars and Chevrons. Dorothy McCormick had original ideas and a sense of humor. Dopey found interest in the Latin Club, Senior Girl Reserves, Horizon Club, junior Honor Society, Courtesy Squad, and choir. Right: three Creston alumni in Service. Donald E. Broene who enlisted in 1942g Sgt. Howard L. Reed, who took part in the Buna campaign, later hospitalized in Australia: Cpl. Richard L. Williams, class of '59, entered service in 1942. Barbara McGarry had a contagious smile and giggle. Barb appeared in the one-act plays, and junior Revue. She was a member of the A. B. Club, Hiker's Club, and Senior Girl Reserves. An amazing athlete was this Irish lad who blushed as often as he smiled, and that was most of the time. joe McGee was on the track team, basketball team and captain of the football team. This grand sport was also a member of the Courtesy Squad and C Club. jovial, yet business-like, Robert Marlett was a well- known member of the class. A major in the R.O.T.C. and president of the Bars and Chevrons Club, Bob was also in the Junior Revue and a member of the Courtesy Squad, senior ushers. and Official Color Guard. Charming, poised, and just plain sweet was Joan Marquardt, viceapresident of the Junior Class, presi- dent of Latin Club, president of Library Club, a mem- ber of Footlights, Amicitia, A.B., junior and Senior Honor Societies, she still found time for debate, Courtesy Squad, senior ushers, Student Council, and appeared in Gloria and junior Revue. Mary Masters was fond of Journalism. Her Echo work consisted of reporting and advertising. She was also a member of the Latin Club. . Bill Maycroft will long be remembered for his dramatic work in the senior play and one-act plays. He appeared also in the junior Revue and Gloria, and was a member of the Courtesy Squad, senior ushers, choir, Latin Club, and golf team. Quiet and shy, but a wonderful person to know was blond Roger Meeusen. james Melcher, a good student as well as an all- round good fellow, belonged to both the junior and Senior Honor Societies, was head doorman for the junior Revue, and was interested in mathematics and science. Reserved, friendly, and a loyal friend was Arlene Petr, who was in the Girls' Meet, junior Revue, A.B., and Senior Girl Reserves. What little Model A ever got around more than the one that belonged to Virgil Phelps? V1rg was in the band, junior Revue, and a member of the Hi-Y. june Post, a quieter member of the class, did her bit by being on the make-up committee for the one- act plays, stage crew for Gloria, and was a member of the Spanish Club. Delores Rawson was one of those quiet, nice-to- know girls. She belonged to the A.B., Courtesy Squad, Girl Reserves, senior ushers, and was an Echo typist. She appeared in the junior Revue and worked in the school office for two years. A hner person could not be found than Maurice Reed. Maurie was in the choir, Gloria, debate, senior play, junior Revue, Courtesy Squad, and on the Saga staff. He was also president of the junior class, treasurer for the Latin and Science Clubs, president and treasurer for the Student Council, treasurer of the Senior Honor Society, head senior usher, and a mem- ber of the Hi-Y. Quiet and serene, Thelma Reed was in the Courtesy Squad, A.B., and Hiker's Clubs, secretary of the choir, treasurer for the Girl Reserves, and on the Echo staff. Loquacious and friendly, Iris Richmond was in the choir, one-act plays, and Gloria.. Esther Ritzke flashed a dimpled smile at everyone. Esther was in the choir, Junior Revue, Gloria, and vice-president of Amicitia. She earned a C , numeral, and all-city honors in A.B. Club. Craig Robinson, who came from Central in the eleventh grade, was interested in mathematics and science. A few of the fellows caught in a car full of the usual decorations. Fellow students on Creston's steps. Edwina Robinson, that petite and charming R.O,T.C. sponsor, was in the Junior Revue, Footlights, Bars and Chevrons Clubs, and on the Echo and Saga staff. Barbara Romkema, a quieter member of the class. was active in the Courtesy Squad, junior Revue, Girl Reserves, Latin, Hiker's, Horizon, and A.B. Clubs. A good student was Anna Marie Rose, who was in the Courtesy Squad, Senior Ushers, junior Revue, both Honor Societies, and in the senior orchestra for tive years, Anna was also a member of the Library Club and president of the Latin Club. There was lots of fun when Richard Rose was around. Dick was active in the band. secretary and treasurer of the C Club, and secretary of the Hi-Y. Dick won all-city honors in track. Frank Rosenzweig was on the top of everybody's party list. Frank, now serving in the Navy, was on the basketball team and a member of the C and Hi-Y Clubs. Arlene Rowe, who liked to spend her leisure time playing the piano, was an usher for Gloria, on the make-up committee for the one-act plays, and a mem- ber of the Spanish Club.
