Three Polar Bears. Gerlsen. Holvvgfdiiu and IDL-Young. played their last game for Creston against Christian at the close of the flyer semester. Creston was represented on the Alleffity squad by joe Polaksyi guard. 1 tainpaign Creston's basketball tones for the I9-HJ-'41 finished the season with a record of seven wins and sexen losses which enabled the Bears to wind up with the respetstable fourth place berth in the tity league standings. Xwith an array of xeteran material returning. prospetts seemed bright for a sutc'essl'ul season. The squad possessed speed. height and a wealth of good shots. Cio-captains Polas- key and DeYoung led the Bears during the season. The squad played scrappy ball throughout the season. whith enabled them to take sexeral close tilts and pull some ot' the biggest upsets ol' the year.

The golfers, coat hed hy Mr. Wfalter Wfood, lost the opening match to Central hy a 7:-1 score. Catholic and the Polar Bears tied at 2-2 apiece in the following event. Union defeated the Crestonites -1-O. The Bears then came through with a 1-0 victory over Davis Tech. ,U Ottawa and South each stroked out 4-0 decisions. South defeated the Crestonites -4-1 in the campaign opener. The Bear netmen then defeated Christian 5-2. Catholic whipped Creston -1-1, as did Central, 5-0. Union also proved iictorious oxer the Bears with the score. 3-2. Games with Tech and Ottawa rounded out the year for the team, Lootens and Caukins were shining lights in an otherwise dull season, Q? 123
