A LETTER FROM THE SENIOR CLASS Dear Creston High School, Looking back on our four years spent here in Creston high school, we seniors recall many pleasant memories of our classes, instructors, and classmates. A vivid picture of ourselves as freshmen lingers to reveal the water pistols, dif- ficult locker combinations, our dread of red letter day and initiations, and our wide-eyed awe of Upperclassmen. The first tardy still remains as one of the most fearsome occa- sions, and then our wonderment when we found that no one was going to reprimand us too severely. As sophomores, we began to feel at home. Toward the lowly freshmen, who were repeating our discoveries and mistakes of yesteryear, we flashed our disdainful glances, although far back in our minds a small voice reminded us that we were yet under- classmen! - Now juniors, we truly became a part of the third-floor hall and the activities sur- rounding it. Bleached hair became a passing fadg sockhops and the valentine formal were fun, and the junior-senior banquet rolled around. We recall the long hours of preparation in order to give the seniors a banquet to be equaled by none. We won't forget the feeling of accomplishment that was ours when our banquet with the theme, a Hawaiian cruise, succeeded so well. The Crestubilee was fun and we were proud to have helped make the first one a success and to have been able to participate in it. Here we are seniors and, as the year has worn on, we have come to realize that we are at the end of four of the best years of our lives. We are now planning for college, business, the service, marriage, and the future. When we, as citizens in the future, go about our duties and occupations, we will remember with reverence our good old Creston high school. Sincerely we say goodbye. The Senior Class of 1954 CMutineersJ SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS LEFT TO RIGHT - Vice-President Charles Francis, President Pat Spangler, Secretary Shirley Schafer, Treasurer Bill Ide.
