Svvrunr Gltaan Lguitnrg Who of the class of I6 will ever forget that memorable first day n he C H 5 Ir was that gloomy depressing sort of dav which makes most people have the dumps Although the sun was not shining its blessrng upon our heads v e v nt bravely on in little groups to that forbidden building called Hrgh School found to our dismay that the other meml ers of the school were overly glad to receive rs into their midst with fitting pomp and splendour It was evrdc nt that they considered this an occa ron for great rejoicing but they were plainly disappointed when we failed to malte the customary mrstalces of Freshmen However great were the trrals and tribulations rn our inner souls our count nances were perfectly serene lhe Sophomores very avage like attempted to frustrate our plans to organize at the beginning of the year We proved our superiority and succeeded rn organizing under Irene Matt n as president lhe numerous class parties conducted during the year were very successful both in the social affairs themselves and rn wxrdrng off unrnvrted monsters called Sophomores In the fall of I9I3 we returned to school full of pep and proud to be Sopho mores We gave the Freshmen a hearty welcome rmrlar to the one which we our selves had received the preceding year We were 'artrcularly delighted with then ceremomous 5 entrance and put forth a great effort to malte everything agreeable fo them the hrst day This year we were unorganrzed a a c ass but this fact dr not prevent us from engaging in many socral functions It was an undisputed fact that our class contained the lrvelrest crowd of rooters which could be found on the ball dran ond And the next year we were unrors How proud we wart of that fact' bhortly fter chool started we elected officers with Helen Robison president Qhe made an rffairs Our crowning glory of this vear was the plendrd Annuxl which we issued A most clever ideas have been originated bv the class of l9l6 so came from them the plan of giving our Annual the name lqhe Qrest lhe frcultv was d lighted with our brrl lrant idea and ordained that all succeeding Annuals should be ltnown as The C rest 'lhe other most important event was the Senior uniors Banquet which we gave near the close of the school year This excelled all preceding Banquets in clevernes and orrgrnalrty lqhe program was very entertaining as were also the hloasts given by members of the Senior and umor classes and the Faculty The numerous unror parties during the year were well attended and thoroughly enjoycd by everyone ut this year I9I3 I6 we have succeeded to the trtle of Stmors After Christmas vacation we were allowed to be officially organized lhe following ofhc r were elected Franlt Ball president Mervyn Agnew vice pre rdent Paul Revnold secretary Archie Wilson treasurer They have all bten efficient ofhcers We have enjoyed verv much all the ocral activities of the year and are anticipating many more during the re t of the year and the Commencement season We are sorry our days are o limited which we m v spend here We thmlt that the members of this brilliant class will not disappoint the fond hopes of the liacultv and bchool Board At times we feel lrlce the two headed Janus with one face with sorrow ful appearance looltrng backwards at former joys the other loolvmg forward with eager eyes into the mysterious future O - O 5 Y . .
