Teaching career slums Q pw 50 years s for Hackman Mr. Hackman began his teaching career in the junior high school, Plymouth School District, where he remained one year. The next two years he taught in Sycamore high school where he also coached track and basketball. After two years, Mr. Hackman came to Crestline as principal of the South School and teacher in the seventh grade. Upon completion of the addition to the old high school in 1930, Mr. Hackman moved with the seventh grade to that building where he taught general mathematics in the high school and mathematics at the junior high level. Beginning in 1934 he began teaching in the .science department where he has since taught.. During his tenure in the science department, Mr. Hackman has taught chemistry, physics and biology. He also taught mechanical drawing and industrial arts. Mr, HaCkmg,n's other duties included being athletic director for 23 years, and audio-visual director. On Nov. 27, 1972 he moved into the new Crestline high school. Mr. Hackman has made civic contributions. He was a scout master for 15 years and an advisor to the Hi-Y for four years.
