M , ,nun-uur-,., W THE SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE CECIL H. RA TCLIFF The importance ofa school annual cannot be measured by its value at the time it is published. Like so many of the finer things of this world it increases in value and as an esteemed possession with the passing years. As a part of your future this book will some day be a reminder of happy days and treasured friendships, of memories beyond the price of earthly possessions. So live that always when your friends again look upon your face in this book, in memory they will see you again as you are now, and may know that the vicissitudes of life have only served to strengthen the fine qualities of youth into an upright individual worthy of eternal life. THE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE RIC HA RD G. LONGENEC KER In a rapidly advancing world such as ours, it behooves me to express my feelings in words to you--for you are standing on the threshold of many wonderful things to come. It is my sincere wish that your days in Crestline High School have been enjoyable ones and days that have been profitable in experiences which will enable you to find your niche to advance with our civilization in prosperity, happiness and culture. ?Mf6fff JANET S, BISHOP English I-leideberg College ETTORE CHIUDIONI Music Ohio University VIRGINIA DOVE Business Education Bowling Green State Univ. Witnessed by: L 4 at - ,, .-Wil fe-st - , ,....,,s,,,,,., T 1 iv W Paris, France October 4, 1958 Dear Olga and Anastasia, It sure was wonderful to leave little 'ole' Crestline for our trip around the world to visit some of our old classmates. You can imagine our surprise when we met LINDA UOMBARD in a Paris night club dancing under the name of Fifi, the Fabulous Fan Dancer. While watching the fans, who should come shuffling by but JO JO PIERRE SPERDUTI pushing a broom. On our way out we passed DAVE BOYD, Paris' official wine taster. Early that morning we stopped in at PAUL Cl-lICO FRENGEL'S Steam Bath and Gym and, to our amazement, bumped into FUNNEL McALLISTER who is a profes- sional weight lifter. Our next stop brought us to Greenland where we were met by HENRY KEIB who was, at the time, building a monastery for penguins out of ice blocks. Further inland we found TOM HORN- ING and CHARLIE BALLINGER doing research work concerning the growth of sea weed on land. Working with them was BONNY LONG, their sled dog trainer. Due to the fine work of ambassador NIK PRY, who also stars in a play entitled, The Gettys- burg Address, we were able to obtain visas to enter Russia. We toured the Moscow University where SCAB FISHER is Director of Internal Athletics. We also talked with BUTCI-I PAYNTER, the HEAD man in the Human Anatomy Department. We bought a newspaper on the corner from BILL GARRET. In it, we read that MIKE TACKETT, chief interpreter at the United Nations, had retired and was vacationing in China. We decided to look him up. After talking to Mike, we saw WOODY HENSLEY, who told us he was a part-time guitar- teacher in a Chinese home for retarded children. As we passed a restaurant we saw someone waving a pair of chopsticks and yelling, There's no holes in these straws! It was DAVE RUN- YON gorging himself on Chinese food. Next to the restaurant we saw WILMA TINKEY selling white blackboards, an invention of philanthropist DAVID GLAUER. His inventing co-worker is SALLY STANOVICH, whose latest inventions were gray-flannel lolly-pop covers and re-usable kleenex. That evening we went to a Philharmonic Concert and saw TOM BRANNON directing the orchestra with his hands tied behind his back. Tom ar ' ,lnced that DENNY TUTTLE'S trumpet solo had to be cancelled because Denny was home taking a bath and pounding the dents out of his horn. During the intermission it was announced that LARRY ARLEN, leader of the Young Revolutionists, had been sentenced to life in Siberia for tipping over the Czar's outhouse. On the boat trip home we saw DOROTHY RANKIN knitting chartruese beanies for her troupe of trained mosquitoes. One evening, on the boat, we were molested by RONNIE BARKER, who was collecting belly-button lint for a Kentucky biscuit recipe. Also on the boat was DAVID GROH who was returning from Egypt where he collected enough sand to fill his 51 minute hour glass. Sincerely, Edgar and Alfred Crestline, Ohio October 17, 1958 Dear Edgar and Albert, We have just finished our tour of the United Sta'es. It was very enjoyable. While we were in New York we went to Greenwich Village where we saw BOB CURREN at Hernando's Hideway. He performs under the name of Real Gone, Way Out Willie. CAROLYN SMITH is a cigarette girl in the same night spot. While we were at the Philharmonic we listened to a cymbal solo by INEZ SOLINGER. We also saw ROGER RUHE, who is manager of the newsstand in front of Grand Central Station, selling programs during the intermission. DEE- DEE KRANER and JUDY ELLEN KRICHBAUM are modeling at Sak's 5th Avenue. Our next stop on the tour was Florida where we saw JOE COZAD and BOB MAYFIELD modeling bathing suits at Muscle Beach. In Tallahasse we found BUNNIE ROHRER and JUDY WHITE operating a hospital for retarded French hom players, where HELEN SCANLON and FRANCIS PERITO are patients. MARY LOUISE ADAMS is an educational therapist. JOEL REED is stationed at Pensacola Navy Base. Next we boarded a plane for California where CONNIE YOST and SALLIE RYAN skillfully buckled our seat belts and turned on the No Smoking sign. On our arrival we were surprised when JOHN CROFT the automatic pilot stepped out of the cockpit. MOONIE EXENKAMPER, who is president of a Score Board, Inc. met us at the airport and took us to lunch where we were served by PAULA TRENT and SUSAN SAMPSEL. It was the lunch room where Lana Turner was discovered. JOYCE POTH was there playing out-to-lunch music. SUSIE WALTERS, MARY VUICH, NANCY BROWN, and NANCY ROBINETTE are in charge of make-up at MGM studios where PHIL THORNSBERRY is directing a new movie I Married a Hillbilly from Outer Space starring WAYNE NOE as Hank Snow and co-starring JERRY BICKERT, and ANTHONY TESSO. Heading East again we decided to stop off in Texas, There we read that BONNIE HOFFMAN, ILEEN MARSHALL, and MARY LOU BURKHART owned the Double R-bar ranch which is managed by KEITH HATFIELD. Their chief bronco buster is Brave BONNIE HOFFMAN. JIM JONES and DON ARTER are caretakers at the Alamo. In the county jail were JOE BOYD and LARRY SWAIN, who were arrested for cattle rustling. On the way home we stopped at Coffeeville, Kansas where JACKIE SHERER is head chemist at the DuPont laboratory. After the uneventful trip from Kansas to Crestline we were glad to get home. We were attended at the railroad station by redcaps GARY LEGG and EUGENE BISE. BILLIE JEAN ARCUDI drove us home in her taxi. Billie stopped to get gas at LINDA PRY'S gas station where ELDON BAUER sold us 32. 00 worth of gas. We made a quick stop at the Advocate where KATHRYN BROWN works under CAROL HORNING the editor, as social reporter. She told us that JEANIE BARKER, CAROL YOST and NANCY MCKEAN were married to three brilliant young men who were planning to reroute the Mississippi River. When I got out of the taxi I had to borrow Sl. 20 from my neighbor PAULINE SIMMERMACHER.
