Master Photographer, of Oxford, Ohio, was an impartial and unbiased judge since he was not ac- quainted with any of the persons whose pictures were submitted to him. In all fairness to everyone concerned it was necessary that the judging be done by photographs. All seniors were eligible. Due to lack of time the two pictures were selected in Columbus and then forwarded straight to the publisher. Therefore, the judge's choices will be a surprise to everyone, including the editor, the staff, and the winners. The School R LXR-Rqlk XX Fs.gw-a K X , -nam. 1 -X .C A ay? , w tk. Q, IF? 32 History Of The Senior Class The class of 1956 started its journey through C.H.S. in 1950 as lowly Seventh Graders. Our officers were Ted Sawyer, President, Bob Cain, Vice-President, and Catherine Krichbaum, Secretary-Treasurer. We thrilled to our first big event--a class party. Advisors were Mrs. Varga and Mr. Flynn. We then went on to the Eighth Grade where we elected Bob Cain, President, Bill Bauer, Vice-President, and Suzanne Enoch, Secretary-Treasurer. This ended two glorious years in Junior High School. Mr. Flynn and Mr. Hutson were our advisors. In our first year in high school we elected Larry Palmer, President, Sally Exenkamper, Vice-President, Bob Ruhe, Secre- tary, and Bob Cain, Treasurer. Big business made its appear- ance in our career when we sold Bulldog emblems. We lost one of our beloved class-mates when Beverly Steele passed away. Advisors were Miss O'Leary and Mr. Flynn. As Sophomores we found that we still had a lot to learn, we received much experience from conducting Sock Hops, the Sophomore Hop, and by waging a magazine drive with Sandra Clutter and Ted Sawyer as Captains. The teachers who helped us this year were Miss Griebling and Mr. Flynn. Our officers were Larry Palmer, President, Ruth Hensley, Vice-President, Catherine Krichbaum, Secretary, and Peggy Linn, Treasurer. The Junior year meant one important project--the Recep- tion. For the big Job the class chose Larry Palmer, President, Ted Sawyer, Vice-President, Sandra Clutter, Secretary, and Ruth Hensley, Treasurer. Advisors were Mrs. Neff, Mrs. Palmer, Mr. Flynn, and Mr. Hutson. The class was deeply saddened by the passing away of another of our class-mates, Helen Fetters. For its last year the class selected Bill Horning Presi- dent. He is assisted by Catherine Krichbaum, Vice-President, Norma Long, Secretary, and Emogene Croft, Treasurer. Miss Miller and Mr. Hutson are our advisors. For the first time in several years this class has undertaken two immense projects-- publishing an annual and taking a class trip. J.E. The school's oldest group also held several dances and sold candy to raise money for their treasury. To guide the class in its final year was the lot of Miss Miller and Mr. Hutson. Leading this class were Larry Simmermacher, president, Marilyn Horning, vice-president, Jack Harbaugh, secretary, and Pam Eckert, treasurer. Their fund raising activities included selling C.H.S. emblems, school memory booklets, and admissions to the dances that were held after the home athletic games. Faculty advisors were Miss Griebling and Mr. Walrath. Sophomores Sophomores, those wise fools, led by president Sharon Sigars, vice-president Jim.Mahek, secretary Nancy Linn, and treasurer Judy Harbaugh, were counseled by Miss O'Leary and Mr. Hackman. The focal point of this class' activities was the Sophomore Hop, annually held after the Junior-Senior Reception. Freshmen The Freshmen, newcomers to the opportunities of a high school education, had good advice from Mrs. Varga and Mr. Flynn. Officers were: Roger Ruhe, president, Inez Solinger, vice-president, and Carole Yost, secretary-treasurer. Eighth Grade A Christmas Party was the highlight of the year for the Eighth Grade. During the 1955 football season the Crestline Bulldogs enjoyed only a fair season. They won 4 and lost 5, but many of their defeats were by close scores. In his first year as head coach, Les Grace, aided by assistants Keith Evans, Bob Clouse, and Earle Fletcher, led Crestline to fourth place in the strong Mohican League. The captain was Bob Ruhe and the co-captain B111 Horning. This year's squad was limited to the upper three grades be- cause of a new rule preventing Freshmen from playing in varsity competition.
