OUR ' 49 MEMORIES The dictionary defines memories as the recollection of past time. After going to school for twelve years, or maybe even more, we have collected many memories. Sitting here, hard at work, we suddenly realize how easy a task we had in preparing those lessons for school. In grade school we didn ' t have much to worry about or any cause for anxiety. After we entered the seventh grade and all through junior high, we began to feel very important and self-satisfied in our minds. All this time we were collecting memories and filling the pages of our minds with knowledge. Soon the responsibility and sophistication of sen- ior high began to bring--from lower classmen—respect, honor, and envy. We suddenly became conscious of the fact that we were fin- ished with our high school, unless we should become teachers. Realizing only too late, we begin to consider how stupid we were, and the chances we had for learning (all that time which was so foolishly wasted). Despite all our memories, pleasant and unpleasant, we still must look to the future for real happiness. Responsibility and ambitions will give our future as much beauty as memories have enlightened the past, l?Ci V

(Dedication We, the class of nineteen hundred and forty nine, do hereby dedicate our annual to Miss Bessie Todd. Miss Todd has set a standard of music appreciation for the people of Crestline which has brought familiarity with the best in piano music. She has always willingly helped anyone wishing musical guidance and has helped many to successful musical careers. Along with the many who have known her, and all those who have had the privilege of studying with her, we are proud to dedicate our annual to such a wonderful person, Miss Todd.

THE EOARD OP EDUCATION Much credit is due these five men who form our School B oard. The amount of time and effort which these men put forth is often underestimated. The students and faculty feel that they are privileged to have such a fine organization behind them. Harry White Rev. W. L. Margard F. M. -Teeter F. C. McNeal F. G. Hesser
