fl QA P ALL SCHOOL PLAY LITTLE WOMEN-i Q For six generations Louisa M. Alcott's LITTLE WOMEN has fascinated readers everywhere. On November 15 this popular juvenile novel came to life when it was presented on our stage. Who can forget Jo, Corrine Smith, and her wish to be the man of the family, her sacri- ficing of her beautiful hair, and comedy courtship with Professor Bhaer played by Jim Wunschel? The love affair of John Brooke and Meg, Lee Schott and Marcia Karstens, had many mis- understandings but these are forgiveable considering the crotchety interference from Aunt March portrayed by Beth Nellis. The Christmas play eas a success only with the help of Amy, Dianna Haack. A remarkable change is noticed in her on retum from Europe but the reason is revealed on her announcement of her secret marriage to Laurie, Henry Goodman, while in Europe. The incident that gave the story life was the death of the much loved Little Beth played by Joyce Determan. Always present with sound advice to her daughters was Marmee, Julie Ward, and by her side was the loving husband and father, Damon Mooney. The whole cast did a wonderful job but the girls must receive special thanks on their remarkable performance. Everyone appreciated their efforts. Special thanks to Mrs. Miller, the director. LITTLE WOMEN was the first of the two all-school plays to be given each year. The sec- ond is given in the spring with actors also chosen from the whole high school. Mrs. Miller di- rects these as well as the contest one-act and the other speech activities. 60
