PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE With the close of World War II our nation is confronted with great social economic and political problems These problems must be solved and solved properly to fail means strife and chaos to our nation to succeed means prosperity and the strengthening of our American vxay of life The final solu tion is dependent upon an educated people those who are capable of making wise and intelligent decisions on matters affecting the welfare of our nation Our nation strongly believes that her very existence continued prosperity and her position as a leader among nations depends upon the education of its youth For this reason your community has seen fit to provide educational that you as a member of a society such as ours will be called upon to do As a member of the graduating class of 1947 it IS your responsibility to fulhll the trust that your community state and nation has placed in you lt is the hope of your school and community that each of you will do your part in maintaining and supporting our form of free government and ever uphold ing those ideals which we cherish so much It has been my privilege to be associated with you in your senior year In our associations and activities of the school you have exemplified the fine qualities of lndustry cooperation and loyalty I am certain that if you con tmue to show and practice these same traits after graduation as well as you have demonstrated in your school life you will prove valuable citizens to your community state and nation Page Five l x facilities in order that you might better be able to participate in the affairs
