Coach Hart gives a chalk talk. Cresson Ioint High School's INDIANS open- ed the basketball season on December 12 by downing visiting SOUTH FORK. Another win over SOUTH FORK, then came victories over POBTAGE and GALLITZIN. A heartbreaking defeat at the hands of ALTOONA CATHOLIC followed by triumphs over LILLY, HASTINGS, and PATTON brought us up to the Ebensburg encounter. The RED DEVILS from Ebensburg edged Cresson. Two victories at the expense of GALLITZIN and LILLY both at home brought up the all-im- portant engagement with BABNESBOBO. The INDIANS bowed to the RED DRAGONS but then they got back on the victory trail with easy wins over HASTINGS, BARNESBOBO and PATTON. ALTOONA CATHOLIC dealt CRES- SON its fourth defeat and EBENSBURG hand- ed CRESSON another. PATTON and CRESSON met at St. Francis College to battle for the Northern Cambria County League Championship. The INDIANS picked up a decisive victory and the title Champs, POBTAGE was the last team Coach lack Hart's boys met during the regular season and an easy CBESSON victory resulted. BE- CABRIA-COALPORT-IRVONA was the next vic- tor of the rampaging INDIANS. It was an inter- league game and the locals walloped B-C-I at Loretto. The District 6 Class B Championship was at stake when the CRESSON HIGH SCHOOL IN- DIANS met ADAMS TOWNSHIP HORNETS at Roosevelt Iunior High School. After a very hard fought battle CRESSON ended up on the heavy end of a 59-57 score. The District 6 B Champs met IRWIN at McKeesport High School. The INDIANS fell to this onslaught of the BLACK KNIGHTS and ended up with the sixth loss of the season against I6 wins, as Mr. Hart's first year as basketball mentor fell into the record books.
