Absent, Virginia Wilson, treasurer The Freshmen-Sophomore initiation party was a great success as members ot our class displayed their talents by entertaining the Freshmen. The Sophomore Valentine Dance Was held February l4, 1953. The fine local band, The lays, furnished the music. The next dance was held April ll, l953. This dance Was a complete success. Our class shone in extra-curricular activities. Of the twelve Sophomore football players tour played second string varsity. The I. V. basketball team was made up ot all Sophomores except three. This was the best I. V. team in the history ot the school. There were seven Wrestlers, with Bill Carney copping top honors tor the Sophomore class. We were Well represented by the girls, too. A leading part in the operetta was played by Peggy Farren. Other parts were Well played by our amateurs. There are fifteen students in the band and seventeen in the chorus. Ioan Latterner, Grace Rice, and Helen Cepuch are our cheerleaders. The Girls' Council Was represented by Marce Trexler, Patty Frank, and Virginia Wilson. Hilda Bunnell Won the District Twenty hon- ors in the Annual American Legion Oratorical Contest. With the guidance ot our adviser, Mr. Leon Hue, the Sophomore class had a very successful year.
