A hundred and twelve strong, we Iuniors had a hand in all school activities. In football We had eleven lettermeng basketball, four lettermeng and in Wrestling, five letter- men. In addition We had twenty girls selected as members of the Girls' Chorus, twenty members on the Powhatan staff, and fourteen members playing in the band. Under the capable direction of Miss Ann Eckley and Mr. Iarnes Rittner, our Iunior play, Strange Boarders, was enjoyed by all who saw it. For the first time in a high school play. cr double cast Was trained. Each cast alternated in giving the production. To end our year successfully, our Iunior Prom was held in the American Legion Ballroom May 8. We danced to the dreamy music of George Naider and his orchestra. At the Iunior Pitt track meet, Robert McGowan placed second in the mile and Robert Hostler placed third in the shotput. Ierry Boland, a member of our class, was one of the Quartet Who placed first in the Pennsylvania State Forensic Contest. Mr. Robert Primel, Who took Mr. Cassidy's place as our adviser, seemed to enjoy guid- ing us through our third year. Forty
