Students lead a varied academic Ilfe Out of the Whole of student life, the largest single block of time is spent in the class- room. Efforts to make this focal point more meaningful have resulted in broadening the curriculum to include several new courses. Among these is the state -encouraged humanities program which in- cludes an assimilation of the best in art, literature, histo- ry, and music. ln addition, single semester courses in dram atics, Gregg Shorthand, personal typing, and public speaking have been intro- duced. Augmenting classroom activ- ities, various student groups have taken trips: to view Pi- casso at the Museum of Mod- ern Art, to study government at the state capitol in Trenton to watch MACBETH at Strat- ford, Conn.

Stud and experimentation: basic in learning i 1 Vx I 5 Although a relatively new school, Cresskill High has already begun to add complex modern equip- ment. The business department has been strengthened by the ad- dition of a ealculatorg the stage lighting system has been com - pleted during the past year through the volunteer work of several seniors. Through the generous contributions of the Booster Association, next year' s football games will be made more interesting with a new score- board. This is only the beginning. ln future years CHS will make lur- ther additions, both in Courses and in equipment. 38
