The festiv- ities began with the presentation of Queen Phyl and her attendants Malinda and Connie at the pep assembly. Following the assembly was the parade where the freshmen took first place with their skunk. The next event to take place on that day was the preliminary bonfire and the football game with Osage. The spirit wasn't dampened by the loss of the game as the students went on to the last event of the day. The lovely queens danced to the music of Vance Dixon and a wonderful time was had by all. This satement certainly has been proved false by the Mixed Chorus. Though limited to two practices a week except at Varsity Show time, the Mixed Chorus found plenty of time for fun and laughter as well as ringing out top quality performances including Variety Show and vocal concerts. We'll always remember the rude awakening the sopranoes got when snoozing after those first bars . . . Right, sopranoes? . . . the good salesman techniques that were used at ticket- selling time . . . the harmony echoing through the Little Theatre as Miss Lease directed the chorus . . . all of these instances may not be recorded in the history books, but they are recorded in the memories of the Mixed Chorus members.
