Small Groups Ehtertczihed. The music department had a very full year. The band gave three concerts in December, February, and May, the February one being a POP concert, Mixed Chorus put on its annual variety show, Calendar of Hits, featuring songs through the years. Girls' quartet attended the Dorian Festival at Luther college in January, Single mixed quartet, Marilyn Collins with bass clarinet, and Mary Jo Gitchell with snare drum, and Jackie Jones with alto clarinet , were chosen to attend All-State in Des Moines at Thanksgiving time. Girls' trio sang on television in Austin for Telethon for Polio. Girls' Glee Club had a record enrollment this year with 145 girls. Boys' Glee Club also had a record , enrollment with 55 members.
