......T.--. uljeflll tL'Il 011, Ever since prehistoric man first showed his son how to catch a fish or swing a club education has been the prime means of per petuating a way of life We in America are quite justifiably proud of our national heri tage and have long supported a system of education in order to maintain it Life in these times IS made difficult by many ob stacles which we must learn to overcome Education is the foremost means by which we learn to adjust our lives to the obstacles which life puts in our path Each ofus must take it upon himself to learn how his own life must be directedso as to best serve the ends of an ethical society We must also as Americans take steps to insure that our system of free public education remains ef ficient and unfettered so as to best serve the interests of our democratic society This Spartan is the result of your plan- ning and organization. Within its covers is a pictorial record of your accomplishments for the 1953-54 school year.
