To you, Idear readers, we bring the 1950 Spartan with the hope that it 'may -serve as -a pleasant reminder of your days in Cresco High School. As freshmen we were like the lamb, meek, as sophomores, like the lion, rproud and anxious to be on our way. In our junior year We were like the fox, cun.ning in our ways and alert to our oppor- tunities. eAt last we h-ave reached our senior year and have become like the eagle, soaring toward greater heights in achieving our goals and realizing our ambitions. With great pride and sincerity, and in recognition 'of their -devotion and exemplary service to the students whom they have guided and inspired, we, the Spartan Staff, do humbly dedicate the 1950- Spartan to Miss Mary Wevstby and Miss Frana Schneidergboth of whom have served faithfully as junior high teachers in the Cresco Public Schools. Miss Westiby, whose duties began in Cresco in 1907, is now principal of Cresco Junior High School and teaches arithmetic, spelling, and penmanship. Miss Schneider, who teaches Junior High School Eng- lish and literature, h-as been a member of the Cresco Junior High School teaching staff since 1910. The faculty and students alike hold -deep respect and admiration for these -devoted leaders who have proved their worth by years of consecrated service -and untiring effort. DEDICATIONHJQ 7
