At the Preliminary Speech Contest, Mariorr Hoopman rece vc-d fr first ratinq in intcrprctative reading, as did Dona Jean Young in extemporaneous speaking. Alice Lee Elwood won in original oratory at the Pre-District Contest and Dona Jean received a lirst rating again in extern- poraneous speaking. -30-
