Members of the 'two organizations br-ought back seven firsts from the sub-district contest at Charles City: girls, glee club, mixed chorus, girls' sextette, male quartette, mixed quartette, soprano solo, and bass solo. At the district contest, the mixed quartette won first place and the eligibil- ity to compete in the state contest at Iowa City. Alice Tillson has been for four years the very talented accompanist of the vocal and instrumental groups. Helen Skogs- mark assists her. Twenty-four

Football Coach Thompson's undefeated Northeastern Iowa Conference champions. with eight 1931 lettermen, Kvam, Hess, Ptacek, Cameron, Bronner, Tass, McDermott, and Zbornik. came through the season with an enviable record. Cresco won the first game from Monona by a score of 20 to 0, and as the season progressed, the team seemed to improve until they played their best game to cinch the conference championship by defeating Osage 33 to 0.
