This year the club sponsored the corn and grain show at the county fair, was represented at the State Vocational Agri- cultural Conference at Iowa State College, sponsored a camping trip to Clear Lake and the Northeast Iowa Vocational Conferences, and sponsored two broadcasts over W M T. Virgil Walter was selected as one of the five Iowa boys to go to the National Vocational Conference and Royal Livestock Show at Kansas City, Mo. Nineteen were enrolled in the 1933 short course, four taking their third year of work and four, the second. L. R. Fields and H. R. Schroder were the instructors of the group who showed the utmost appreciation of the opportunities offered by what is said to be the oldest and best course of its kind in the state. Fifteen :ff if

They played Orpheus in der Unterweldtn by Offenbacli, for their selecitve number in the contest, and received a rating of good. Cresco had thirteen instrumental entries in the sub-district contest this year, of whom five won and entered the district contest. Harold Normann, oboe, and Marian Lybbert, clarinet, received ratings of excellent at the district. The brass sextet, clarinet quartet, and Lester DeNoyelles, on French horn were rated good. Competition was the keenest it has ever been. The band gave two concerts, and played for all games. They made a fine appear- ance in new uniforms, consisting of capes, colored black and lined with old rose, and caps.
