They go on field trips to such places as Marineland. They meet every second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The advisors are Mr. Svehla and Mrs. Rank. The Student of the Month Club offers to student of the month members an opportu- nity to improve the campus and communi- ty. They sponsored a paper drive in an attempt to better the environment. In re- turn, they received a five-gallon ever- green pear tree. They meet every fourth Thursday of the month. Mr. Beckett ls advisor. Honor Society I.C.C. I. C. C. consists of a representative from every club on campus. They meet to coordinate club activities. Mr. Boberg is advisor. Service Gents is a service club on campus working to serve our school and community. They meet on Wednesdays after school. Mr. Milligan and Mr. Ashford are co-advisors. Cadets Service Gents The Serv-Anns is a service club for girls on campus. They have participat- ed in activities towards bettering our school and community. They meet on Wednesdays after school. The advisor is Mrs. Spaulding. Cadets is a military organization working to teach new military skills in drilling and rlfling. The Cadets partic- ipate in structured camps competing with other schools in such skills. The Cadets took first place at the 60th Brigade visor for this group. Serv-An ns Leadership School. Mr. Fretheim is ad- German Club German Club is a club for German students. Some activities included Ice Skating and visiting Alpine Village in December. The club meets every other Friday. Mrs. Rank is the club advisor. Spanish Club is for students taking Spanish who are interested in the Spanish culture. The club i sponsors a Co-Rec each year and enjoys trips to San Juan Capistrano Mission and Olvero Street. Mrs. Emmes and Mrs. Fretheim are the club advisors I HI fl? 41 Chess Club Chess Club is a club for stu- dents who really enjoy playing chess. The club is involved in chess matches with seven other Junior High Schools in the area. They have matches every other week. The club has received help from a chess enthusiast, Mr. Morrison. The team that plays consists of the five top players of the club. The club advisor is Mr. Ness. Es IVluy Grande 9th Grade G.A.A. 8th Grade G.A.A. 7th Grade G.A.A. G.A.A. is a club for girls who like to get involved with competitive sports such as: volley ball, softball, basketball, and track. They go on field trips to Disneyland and other places. Mrs. Kane and Mrs. Smith are the advisors. Pep Club Pep Club is for girls who like going to games and cheering their team on to victory. They paint signs and en- courage students to go to the games. Miss Roberts is the advisor. Girls' Track Tennis Club is a club for girls who would like to improve their tennis skills. They compete in singles and and doubles tournaments. The of- ficers are: President Kim Hunt, Vice President Pat Hawkins, Secre- tary Espy Calderon, 9th grade Rep- resentative Linda Risberg, Sth grade Representative Sue White. Mrs. Kane is the advisor for the 9th grade and Mrs. Smith is the advisor for the 8th grade. Tennis Club Girls' Track is for girls who en- joy running and participating in track activities. They compete against other school teams in the dis- trict. Mrs. Kane is the advisor. Boys' Tennis The Boys' Tennis Club is primarily for boys who are interested in getting out on the courts to play, and for those boys who wish to learn the game of tennis. Members meet every Wednesday on the courts after school. The advisor is Mr. Joslyn. Lettermen's Club Letterman's Club is a club to bring the athletes of Crescent together to improve campus sports. The Lettermen sponsored the Ninth Grade-Faculty game. They meet on Friday mornings. Mr. Mendick and Mr. Nolan are advisors. Biology Club Meeting the first and third Tuesday of the month, followed by every Mon- day and Tuesday after school, the Biology Club has its first year of ser- vlce here at Crescent. The members learn by research and lab work under the advice of Mr. Ardoin. Homemaking Club Homemaking Club is a continuation of Homemaking skills for girls. Mrs. Petty and Miss Richter help the girls with the basic instructions while the girls add their own creative touches. Surfers Club Surfers Club is a club for guys and gals who like to ride the waves. Mr. Hofflund is the advisor of this fun- fllled club. They go to the beach and surf as often as they can. F.A.A. Club F. F.A. is a club for students who are interested in agriculture. The members learn about different types of animal and plant life. Mr. Radcliffe is the club advisor. Industrial Art The Industrial Arts Club meet every Monday to work on wood and art pro- jects. Any industrial art student may attend, and with supervision by Mr. Ashford and,Mr. Milligan, each is helped individually. Golf Club Any student who wishes to learn or improve his golf will find the Golf Club to be right for them. The members meet every first and third Wednesday, and they play the second and fourth Wednesday after school. The advisor is Mr. Stark. Art Club Art Club is for students who like art and would like to improve their artistic talents. They work on projects and go on trips to places such as The Los Angeles Metropolitan Museum of Art. The club advisor is Mrs. Jarebeck. Mass Media Serving the school, Mass Media films various activities, such as football and basketball games. The Media meets on Tuesdays after school in the Library.
