Senior Prophecy The Circus was In town' Jeanne back rn the States after a five year man huntrng trrp rn Africa deciced to take a busman s holrday and attend Hurrymg through the main entrance she notrced a small tent to her rrght bearrng the srgn Your Fortune Read for S100 Frve rather expensive years rn Africa lookrng for a man had proved fruitless so maybe a fortune teller was what she needed Anyway one more dollar rn this seemingly endless quest couldnt pos sibly hurt She entered the small tent and was momentarily blinded by the unaccustomed darkness As her eyes gradually adjusted to the drm lrght she made out a small aged and rather drrty lookrng woman seated behrnd a low table She hesltated and was just about to retreat when the woman spoke and told her to be seated Slghrng and thinking What prrce a man' she took the offered charr besrdes something about that voice sounded very famrliar Peering intently at the odd woman recognrtion dawned and she fairly shouted Dolores Dolores Clark' What are you domg here? Dont vou know me? Well he owns this crrcus and srnce we used to be classmates he gave me the Job By the w y lf you d uke to see some more old Irlends Charles Willson Evan Dale Houck and Charles Gillette are all routabouts wrth the crrcus They rl be real happy to see you As Dolores fmrshed Jeanne sat there amazed with her mouth slightly open Fmally when she could manage to speak she said It s srmp y amazrng' As you know Ive been rather out of touch with things I do hear from Reta Beth and Helen occasionally You probably know that Reta Beth is now supermtendent of the Ole Mards home seniorrty I letter writer and now she rs presrdent of the Internat onal Penpal Club The club is compo ed of people who are over srx feet tall I understand she became Interested In that partlcular club because her husband rs only four eleven But what about the others Im simply dying to hear where they are and what they re doing Tell me please As Jeanne settled herself more comfortably for the recital Dolores began I can only tell you what my crystal ball tells me but Im sure its reliable information Betty Anderson mar ried shortly after graduation you remember Sue still lrves on the farm at Dover and devotes rrost of her trme to helprng her ole man mrlk the cows Raymond teaches typing and bookkeeping ln an academy for girls and rs still single Janlse also took up the teaching professron She has the first grade in a Deaf and Dumb school Lizabeth Wrlma Joan and l'ranc1s all marrred so young they finally got together and formed a Canasta Club to take their minds off family problems Doylene recently publrshed a thesis disprovrng the Enstern theory It caused quite a strr and she ls being brtterry opposed by James Lowe who became a renowned scientist My crystal ball becomes quite cloudy when I try to locate Katherine York Do you know of here whereabouts? Why yes Jeanne answered She rs a mrs ronary ln Africa! I saw her last year She is ln the darkest part and that is probably why you couldn t contact her Yes no doubt Well to go on Joyce Tontz ls a successful Broadway actress Shes forty flve years old and still playing juvenrlle roles Mrs Murry would be very proud of Milburn He is campaign manager and wrrtes speeches for Russell Jones Russell has made six attemp s at being president Poor man' I think he is becoming frustrated Patsy Henry finally trapped Delbert They have a pig farm just out of Crescent and two chilcren Delbert jr and Patricia Billy LaRue had hard luck finding a job l'e finally changed his name to Lilly BaRue and plays female roles in radio plays Doyle Brock became a professional gambler He dislikes It but he can t bring himself to grve it up Aaron Hart has a thrrvlng business He,is sellmg 1951 Annuals and was recently awarded a medal for sales- manshlp and being the longest actrve member of the annual staff That about concludes my information Have I left anyone out' Yes Jeanne answered Will Eu has become a second Frank Buck He is in Africa and ships back his animals to Jack Cutter here In the States Jack is running a cafe been tlne to hear about all of the old gang Glanclng at to lecture for a woman s club thus afternoon and I won t Dolores shook her head sadly and said Its just forever unrewardlng Why don t you jorn Reta Beth and and making a fortune with Zebraburgers Goodness but its her watch she exclaimed Oh dear Ive got to run I have have trme to have you tell my fortune' as wel Jeanne It s in the cards that your search ls to be give rt up Jeanne just slrllet. and said good bye but as she pasted out of the clrcus grounds she was mutter Ing furlously to herself I wont give up I won t give up I wont give up I 7 I I .
