I ,X sv., a K X ' , N SCHOOL HISTORY Even when Oklahoma was a state in its early infancy, Cres- cent citizens began to give their attention to building school houses, the first buildings being crude structures made of logs. Losing no tlime, soon after the opening of 1889, the first schools in Crescent were built. In 1901 a highschool was built where the Douglass high school is now located. The present brick building was erected in 1924. The enroll- ment is now 450, and 18 teachers are employed. Two of the most outstanding organiza-tions in our school are the F. F. A. and the Band. A lunch room, F.F.A. building, and band room, have been added to the original building.
