oo LA STORIA 1921 -- r cnt Hlgh School F IOR CLASS HISTORY ln the fall of 1917 there came to Crescent Hugh School, a group or Freshmen, green, perhaps, xn the way of school work, but eager to learn Under the laws of the school system, lt has been decreed that there shall be at least one year of work and to l under the wltty sarcasm of upper classmen Su h were the troubles of thxs class Every vlolatlon ot anv rule was attributed to a Freshman Every class fight was supposed to be started by them but some of these fights were well worth the troubles heaped upon them by the aculty EEG lent leadersh p a d crass pa rnotnsxn brought them, ln a healthy condxtlon and a ln' le more mentanly eff: i t o the close of a successful school year wth the Joy of knowing that they were no longer Frfshmen but the hugh and mxghty Soph A Sophomore, a cordmg to Webster s a wlse fool, but the system of this class brought 1 to vxew as the uve t c ass 1 s hoo! There were parties, and more part es wexner roa ts and more wemer roasts, hghts, and more fights until at last, the' pau n e of the r el pro essor gave out, and he b gan condemning these a ts of the sophomores Not sat shed w th thus he ruled out all part es and other forms of aexusement untnl a storm of eggs, at the close of school, sent hum on hxs way rejoxc :ng wxth the thought that he could no lo tger trouble the Sophomores who now had become Juniors Juniors come and Juniors go bat that year thus class had one thought success m genera The Senxors that year n mbered only fwe and th 5 were like wax nr the ha ds of the JJ ll0l'S b a se th y dared not dlsobey th ord rs of a class three tlmes the r number But these Senxors were a llkable bunch and pea e ul e latxons were formed w th them b ause they suffered a lke und r the same yoke many of the difficult cases These Juniors should make good poets be a se they memorlz d everythmg from A to Z, especnally the longer poems of the harder poets At last the end came and the Juniors looked forward to he next y ar as the grea est ln the r llfe We note with sadness the end of four years of work to be considered ln later llfe the most joyous years of a person s lA e Things come fast and furious to a Senior and the last year of school l fe asses as il short space ln the r history Saddened by the thought of parting to go varloas way ln their life, they rea hed the end wlth joy unknown At tfe beglnnlng of the year there were only nxne Seniors but durxng the last semester two more entered, and the class had th satlsf ctxon of clalmmg the second largest class to ever grad.1ate from C H S There was also the satlsfactlon of attannmg an xdeal, of rea hung the goal that led tl e'n on through all the years Luke a br ght star It had be n to th m, throwing lxght on their paths and glvxng warmth to thexr hearts But now that th nr purpose has been realized, shall they stop m the middle of their Journey?
