But repeat as champions they did. as the i980 Bees came back from an opening-game loss to win eight of nine games and claim the Western League crown. Displaying total team effort, this team emerged as the league's top defensive team. Led by Co-captain Eric Baker's outstanding shooting, Co-captain Darnell Johnson's leadership S passing and Sophomore Mac Osborne's rebounding, the Bees also benefited from Juniors Barry Wooden. Alfred Kelley, Chris Pruitt, Derryl Hollier 8 Joe Bruce, plus Sophomores Charles London. Darryl Ogden, Kenneth Strode, Gary Nettles Cour enforcerj, Kevin Finister S Andre Spencer. Each one contributed greatly, and each received his championship trophy. MVP's were seniors Eric Baker S Darnell Johnson, along with Mark Osborne they were named All-League.
