Mr. Robert Case Principal The concept ol Crenshaw High is unique. Here for the first time community ideas, community planning, and community effort were added to the other resources used to build this school. Tlien, almost as a test of the fabric, Crenshaw opened its doors during one of our most tragic and trying periods in the contemporary scene. National leaders were destroyed, national decisions were assaulted and national estal lishments were questioned. Today, we see almost all of our major educational institutions being challenged. They are being asked to cast off many methods, procedures, and standards as archaic. Education is being challenged to develop new techniques, new concepts, and new understandings. Schools are being challenged to redesign education for the citizenry in the decades to come. That this school, or any school, can respond to meet all of these challenges is doubtful; yet, each school throughout the country can play a part in this evolution. Crenshaw High School is dedicated to quality education, community participation and pupil involvement to produce the good and strong in citizens and leaders for tomorrow. This task is also the never-ending re- quirement of our society ' s survival.
