CRENSHAW CHRISTIAN CENTER SCHOOL OF MINISTRY 7901 SOUTH VERMONT LOS ANGELES. CALIFORNIA 90044 Dr. Frederick K.C. Price Founder VISION FOR THE SCHOOL The Crenshaw Christian Center School of Min- istry- is the result of my desire to see minorities take advantage of the covenant benefits of Christ ' s redemptive work. When I heard Kenneth Hagin speak in 1975 about starting a Bible Training School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I en%-isioned a similar facility in Lc Angeles. We opened o ' jt doors Vj the first group of stu- dents in September, 1985. Chir Student Body con- siste of thoBe men and women who genuinely are called hv God to minister the Gospel. The cTjrriculom is deigned to ftilly train and eqtdp these ministers to go forth with power and authority. While the School accepts students of all colors, races and nationalities, there is a thrust to attract minorities, particularly Blacks. As a Black man with firsthand knowledge of the Black experience in America, I feel I can relate to them on a more personal level. Mv desire for all people, but especially minor- ities ' and Blacks, is the same as that of the Apc le Paul as recorded in Romans 10:1-2: Brethren, my heart ' s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. -, , u Paul was the Apostle to the Gentiles, but he never lost sight of the needs of the Jewish people. Neither have I lost sight of the needs of my Black brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Thomas Pickens Dean IMessasre From The Dean The Crenshaw Christian Center School of Min- istry has grown tremendously in its two years of existence. Our enrollment for the first year was ?c students. For the 19S6-ST term we enrolled ISS. There were S9 students who received First Year Completion Certificates durinc . epecia. ceremony in May. 19S6. This year « e exrec: rl students rc receive First Year Cert;f:c-i:es. A-d 77 stude:-.:e will be awarded a diploma for completing tw-c vears. God is ici-i: - mighty work at CCCSM. We endeavor :c ;.■ ceyond traditional seminary train- ing and prepare students to take charge of the ministries to which God has called them. .• t CCCSM. we train men and women who have d genuine call to the fulltime ministry. Through studying and apphdng the fullness of the Wcxd erf God. we want the students to present the Gospel of ,-ur Lord Jesus Christ with power and authority. Thus far. the fruit of our labor has been good. and we look forward to continued growth and de- velopment in the things of God. He has truly . , . blessed us with all sfiriTuai blessings in heavenly places in Chris:. ' : .:;:;? .- s 1:3) Angela M. Evans Executive Administrator From The First Lady As First Lady of this vast congregation, it has been my sincere pleasure to witness the establishment of the Crenshaw Christian Center School of Ministry. This School has been, and will continue to be, a tremendous learning experience for those who apply themselves. The teaching is based on God ' s Word. And believe me, the Word works. My husband, Fred, and I, are living witnesses of the faithfulness of God ' s Word. We have walked by faith for 15 years. When we started, we did not have anything. Over the years, God has ... blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3) But I; 1 St of all, Fred and I committed ourselves to God ano walking by faith. CCCSr-, started so that those who are called to the minisirv :.n!d learn how to ... walk by faith, not by sight, ' li Corinthians 5:7) If the pastors and ministers know how to walk in the fullness of God, then they can teach others. That is our desire. It is astounding what God is doing at CCCSM. And we xpect ev n greater things to hap- pen in the future. Greetings From Administration The Administration of Crenshaw Christian Center stands ready to assist the School of Ministry in any way it can. We are excited about what God is doing at the School. Through its day and night programs, those who are called to the fuUtime ministry are able to take advan- tage of the faith teaching that has made CCC what it is today. We want the students of CCCSM to be trained to take charge of the ministry to which God has called them. We want them to walk victoriously in every area of their lives. We want them to have the fullness of all that God has provided. The School ' s curriculum is designed to ensure that this happens. These are glorious days for the ministry at CCC. We are pleased that God has blessed us with the School of Ministry. Betty R. Price Crenshaw Christian Center School Of Ministry Alma Mater Reprinted by permission Copyright 1987 by Charles A. Nut pictured, Seraiah Carcl, Malile .lnhn, and Capazin Thomp- kins. Putting together a yearbook re- quires a lot of time, which many students simply do not have. But a dedicated group, consisting of Christine Tabbs, Nathan Hood, Anita Miller, Edrea Chris Dixon, Seraiah Carol, Mabel John, and Capazin Thompkins devoted them- selves to the task. Deadline pressures and the mul- titude of work to be done did not deter the students. They were Committed! Night students made time during the day to attend meetings, which definitely re- quired sacrifice. In regular meetings, the group planned the yearbook and selected from hundreds of photos which they believed best reflected the school and its activities. Dean Tom Pickens kept a close watch on the work to make sure the process ran smoothly. LEARNING BY DOING . Teaching Lab Second year students participated in a teach- ing lab which allowed them hands-on-exper- ience in various areas of the ministry gifts. Each student presented a ser- mon on Walking By Faith ; the message was to contain at least . five scriptures, followed by a question and an- swer session with class- mates. A Theme Of Praise Students of the Crenshaw Christian Center School of Ministry did not let the Thanksgiving season go by without obser- vance. Several of them, including Nathan Hood, Anita Miller, Olga Goodman, and Artis Cash got together and decorated the bulletin board. Their theme of Praise was accented by artwork depicting the Thanksgiving harvest. 7 ' y Nathan Hood, Anita Miller, and Olga Goodman busily decorated the bulletin board with a theme of Praise , and seemed pleased with the results. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6 . (FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT: Dr. Price kept the Word of Faith ever before the CCCSM students. Hebrews 11: 1-6 1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2. For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3. Through faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous; God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony,- that he pleased God. 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Mark 11: 23-24 23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24. Therefore I say unto you. What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calhng of God in Christ Jesus. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU M i Matthew 10:7-8 7. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. GRADUATES! DE IT! • • • One of the most notable and special traits exhibited by the CCCSM Charter Class was their giving spirit. Their gratitude to the Father, Dr. Price, Dean Pickens, their instructors, and others who had touched their lives, was ex- pressed not only in their words, but numerous awards. The graduates presented Dr. Price with several awards, in addition to a $5,000 check t ' cir the School of Ministry library Manifestation Of A Vision I ' r 12 Years! . : . I ' m Thrilled! ... I kddressing the graduates, Dr. Frederick Price said, We g e God for you tonight. I ' m thrilled! I ' m excited! This is the __ tilmination of the manifestation of a vision that I ' ve held for 12 years . . . When you go out armed with what you ' ve been trained to do, the kingdom of darkness fegoing-to know that you ' re on the pad ... We gaveyou our best. We exposed you to the best we Eiew. You know what and Iww to do it. Now what you do is between you and the Spirit of the Living God. Dr. Price then told the graduating class that he was goirig to present them with a personal message that would be just the icing on the cake to the message that Dr. Ken Stewart had given them. And with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Price gave the class a Charge, reading scripture only, without comment: Eph. 4: 11-13; Rom. 10:14. 15; Matt. 9:35-38; Matt. 10- 40-42; II Tim 2:1-5: II Tim. 2:14 15 22-26; Tit. 2: 1, 7, 8, 11-15; II Cor. 6:3-4; II Cor. 4: 1, 2, 5; I Pet. 4: 10 11; I Tim. 4:6; I Tim. 4: 11-16; I Pet. 5: 2-4; II Tim. 4: 1-5. Upon completing reading the scriptures, Dr. Pricesaid, With .these words from the Word of the Living God, I ch e you, and you will be held accountable for what you will do anA ?ith what you have heard. ' - - ' FOR THE GRADUATES Fully Accomplish Your Ministry. . . -Dr. Kennith Stewart Dr. Kennith Stewart, in addressing the graduating class, asked them Will you live up to God ' s expecta- tion? Using I Corinthians 4:1 2, he told the class, You are overseers of the mysteries of God . . . Fool- proof your ministry. Don ' t try to be an overnight sensation and make a fool of yourself. Realize it takes time to grow. In his powerful message, Dr. Stewart charged the Charter Class to Preach the Word in season and out of season. Using II Timothy 4:1-8, he gave the graduates Three Keys to being a faithful steward : FIGHT, FINISH, KEEP! Dr. Ken Stewart (pictured, center) congratulates graduates of the CCC School of Ministry. ! S For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
