Candidates for Mr. Ugly were (left to right) Rich McGuire, J. Paul Maurin, Bob Joerse, Jim Glaser and Rick Hoffman. Uglies-Cuties Highlight Fall Frolics Fall Frolics ushered in the start of Creighton ' s social calendar for 1966-67. Being the first all- university dance of the new year, more than 1400 students turned out to dance to the music of the Dick Wickman Orchestra. Highlighting the evening was the announcement of Miss Cutie and Mr. Ugly. Rosie Murphy and Rich McGuire, the two candidates receiving the highest number of penny votes. Dennis Naughton, master of ceremonies, an- nounced that more than $1800 had been collected for the United Community Service Red Feather campaign. Miss Cutie candidates were (left to right) Pook Corbett, Rosie Murphy, Katy Wondra, Chris Aplington and Eileen Lewis. 22

Excellence in precision hallmarked the performance of the Drill Team. Tradition prevails over Military Ball The 38th annual Military Ball assumed a digni- fied appearance with its theme Faraway Places and its officers ' waltz Lara ' s Theme from Dr. Zhivago. The 24-member ROTC Drill Team demonstrated a pattern of precision movements with weapons. The presentation of cadet officers and their ladies by Master of Ceremonies Dick Jeffries followed. Lawrence Wierzorek of the VFM presented Jack Balousek with the Outstanding Summer Camp Award. Climaxing the evening was the presentation of the insignia of Honorary Colonel to Patricia Hee- lan. Mary Hubbard received second honors of Hon- orary Lieutenant Colonel. Other candidates given title of Captain were Kathi Hermann, Kathy Hy- land, Paula Murphy, Linda Shearer, Donna Bea- ton and Sue Tell. Lawrence Wierzorek, commander at the D. Lewris Black post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, presented Jack Ba- lousek the award for superior cadet. 24
