After becoring used to the sys- tem, schoolmates, and teachers we elected Jerry Schnorf as President, Bill Wilson as Vice Presiient, Janice Douglas as Secretary I and Treasurer, and Ray Pullen as Reporter. The tour was also started by Larry Randol, Everett Sites, Bobby Gregg, Jennie Farr, Jimmie Rice, Everett Helms, Maxine Center, John Neill, and Richard Thornburg, with Wiss Givens as sponsor. Enjoying our tour through the Freshman class we decided to come back and try it once more. Doing so we gained another puoil Chula Mae Cooncel but only to lose one fJimmie Hicej still leaving us an unlucky 13. We chose to,,g511 644 help guide us though our Sophmore year, Ray - 'a ' Pullen as President, Bobby Gregg as Vice Pres- ident, Jennie Farr as Secretary and Treasurer, and Janice Douglas as renorter along with Mr. Sands as our sponsor. Since this is our fourth and final year we know that we must finish our tour through the Creigh- ton School. So by doing so we elected the fol- lowing officers and continued on, Jerry Schnorf as President, John Neill as Vice President, Bill Wilson as Secretary and Treasurer, and Maxine Center as Reporter with Mrs. Brookshire as our SDOFISOIH Tired from travel and weary from study we will now make our way out into the world for a new tOL'LI'. Brenda Jones, Elaine Gilliland, Karen Gregg, Yary Carol Koch, Doris Ann Crawford, Karen Pullen, KarenCummins Coach Williams Qffg Z-?a.1AefAa!f The Tigerettes this year composed a very enviable record. They won 22 games and lost 5. The girls won both the Garden City and Cass County Tournaments and came in a close second in the Archie Tourney. In conference play the record was 6 won, l lost to achieve a tie for the championship with Drexel. This classy sextet massed a total of l,h7O points for an average of Eh.h per game, Likely one of the best girls' basketball teams in the state, here is a rundown on the individual stars. Janice Douglas-- Janice was the Ubig gunn of the Tigerettes this year as she rounded out a fine four-year career. She scored a terrific total of 69h points in 27 games for an average of 25.7 points per game. She will be sorely missed next year for he: points, as well as her team play, and hard rebounding. Janice was one of the Tigerette's co-captains, Jennie Farr--- Jennie this year performed admirably at her guard position. She was called upon to guard some Hbiggunsn this year and usually she did a fine job. Another senior, she too, will be hard to replace. I- ,..,i, , .- , U . ff ' l ,, .A .,. 'ci ,V -Y A X 1 - 'M A , sw, ' ,' K. X w, N., W, M Jr, Maxine CenteJ--- The third of the senior girls on the squad, Maxine was the little girl out front. She moved quickly and seemed to have a knack for being the right place at the right time. A great asset to the team also as a morale booster here are another big pair of vacant shoes. Judy Douglas--- Jud was the teams second high scorer, tossing in a total of Sli points in 25 games for an average of 20.6 per game. Judy might have been called the Miss Cutside of the Tigerettes backing up Janice. Judy was the freethrower of the team and performed well in this capacity too. Judy as a ,sophomore should have two more good years. Merrilyn Rose--- nRedH was both a guard and forward this year. She is likely one of the fastest girls one could find. For this reason she was able to handle some of the other team's nhotshotsn. While on the shooting end she averaged 7.9 points in 23 games. It seemed that this girl was on every loose ball that hit the floor. She was another one of the Tigerette's co-captains, a sophomore, we hope she comes back. Brenda Jones--- Brenda also handled a dual role of forward and guard. She played mostly on the defensive end and played very well. rebounding seemed to be her main forteg but she had a steading influence on the team that helped when the going got rough. Brenda was the co-captain. A junior we're looking for better things next year, The substitutes did a good job also. They were: Karen Cummins, Doris Crawford, Elaine Gilliland, Mary Carol Koch, Karen Gregg, Karen Pullen and Delores Schnorf. If one of these girls were to be singled out it would have to be Karen Cummins. As just aifreshman, she was a valuable asset to the team. In her next three years she should prove to be quite a ball player. Doris played some good ball this year and should be really good in her senior year. K1 4 qc Q ' ,KIDO You REMEMBER The N. The season record was 3 wins and 20 losses. The boys picked un consolation trophy at Archie and missed by one point at both Garden City and Peculiar. The Tigers -seemed to play better ball as che season went along and did not ever reach the peak of their abilities. The squad was composed of M seniors, 3 juniorsg 3 sophomores, and 3 freshmen. With more experience the Yigers should have a good year in 59. nwait Till Next Yearn. Here is a look at how the individuals stacked up. Bill wilson--- As a senior Bill was elected co-captain of the team. He was the cluh'sjop rebounder and also did a good job at times on defense. He was an all-around asset to the team. John Neill--- The other senior on the first five, John was also elected co-captain. He held some of the tsp scorers in this area to their lowest totals. John also added help on the Hboardsu and averaged 7.3 DOiUt3 DSP game. :gf if , My xg, . 61' QA wg 1 P. A 1 Q Bob Polzin--- Bob was the olub's top scorer this year with a 13.3 average. He scored a total of 330 points. With another year'5experience to his credit Bob should be a real star next year. Gerald Meyer- Mouse is another starter who will be back for another year. He was the second high scorer in average with 13 per game and a season's total of 3hO. Gerald is except- ionally fast and also an excellent floor shot. He pave the opposition some real headaches with his ball stealing tactics. Marion Empson--Marion along with Gerald was the playmaker of the team. He too, is a good floor shot. As a junior Marion with a little work on defense should do a good job next year Louis Gilliland-As sixth man Louis filled in well and at times played some excellent ball. Louie seemed to have springs in his legs when he started to rebound. He should move up to a starters position next year and play a lot of roundball Larry Polzin ---- Larry was the seventh man and gave some more strength t0 the bench. He has a good eye for the basket and would have been able to help even more had he not cracked his ankle early in the season. Larry will be back. Jerry Schnorf--- Jeiry didn't get to play too much but he did show late in the season his fine ballhandling and a good knowledge of what to do on the court. Jerry is a senior, The other ready reserves were Ronnie Hodges, Donnie Jacobs, David Ross, Richard Polzin, and Everett Helms. rezienfing flue .xdclminidfrafion .zdcfiuifiezi 3 lj? 2 .i?de-'f? Everything gets off to a big start when Charley Craig, a handsome new boarder in the Weber home, admires Bill1e's sketch for greeting cards and suggests that they take a sample to the county seat to obtain a license to sell them. Punk, the jealous boy friend, sees Billie and Charley driving away with an overnight case, a wedding cake is de- livered by mistake, Billie leaves a note telling her parents that they will be surprised when she and Charlie return, and so naturally everyone in town believes they have sloped. The excitement and tension of waiting with flowers and rice for the return of the happy cowfde, added to the humor of Punk, the anxiety of Mother, and a sub-rosa romance between Aunt Mabel and Professor Dodenhoff, made the play end with a flourish.
