We Welcome You To The fall of nineteen eighty one brought on many changes to Creighton Community Schools. The first day of classes, new superintendent James Micek, who came to us from Fairfield-Sandy Creek, opened the year with a school theme: PRIDE. And pride we showed, through the bad times as well as the good. Graduating 81 seniors in the spring of 1981 took its toll. Our enrollment dropped over fifteen percent, forcing us back into Class C in ath- letics. As a result, the Bulldogs had their share of troubles. But through it all, we kept the winning spirit and good sportsmanship for which Creighton is known. In the classroom and out. Bulldog pride showed through. During the year, students represented the school well in Speech, Drama, Music, FFA, FHA, Math, Science, and Industrial Arts in various contests throughout the area. Art and Industrial Arts students also put their talents on display at school at times when the departments were opened to the public for inspection. A new toy was also discovered. The school pur- chased a microcomputer for the math department, and many of the students found that it was good for more than playing games. Classes were held to teach programming and we learned much about how computers work. We began the year on a note of change and hope. We knew it had the potential to be a great time of learning and sharing. We hope you enjoy this view of our year 1981-82 - The Year of Bulldog Pride. Mr. James Micek, superinten- dent, came to us from Fairfield, NE, after several years as administrator at the Sandy Creek school system. Our new principal, Richard Caldwell, is a newcomer to Nebraska, after spending thirteen years as a teacher and coach in Iowa. The Micek and Caldwell families were welcomed into the commu- nity and school system, and we wish all of them success as they take over the helm of the school.
