All-State, All Conference Kevin Kehne attempts to go wide after catching a pass. All-State Defensive tackle Kelly Eisenbeiss watches and prepares to go on field. Victories over arch-rival Pierce and West Holt in the first two games of the season led Bulldog fans to believe it was finally our year. Other people were believers, too, as Creighton topped the World-Herald and Lincoln Star Polls for class C-1 teams. But it was not to be, as a lack depth com- bined with key injuries stopped the Bulldogs in midseason. We were unable to recover from the loss of Seniors Larry Neilsen, Doug McManigal and Scott Wagner, and ended the season at 3-6. We were not without our highlights, however, as four players were named to the 1981 All-NENAC squad: Kelly Eisenbeiss, Kevin Kehne, Doug McManigal, and Kevin Young; and four others named honorable mention. Kelly Eisenbeiss was also named by the Omaha World Hearald and Lincoln Star as Class C-1 All State Defensive Tack- le. Twenty nine letters were earned, and several honors were voted upon: Kelly Eisenbeiss was named Head Captain, with Kevin Kehne and Curt Zimmerer named Co-captains.
