FHA Girls Rock For Teen Center The Creighton FHA Chapter began the year with a new sponsor, Mrs. Joyce Howell. Chapter Mothers were Mrs. Eldon Rohwer and Mrs. Dale Hilkemeier. Renee Oltjenbruns was selected as Miss FHA for the 1976-77 year. Renee was given this honor for her outstanding contributions to the chapter. Some of the events sponsored by the FHA Chapter this year were an FHA-FFA hayrack ride, a Christmas party. Daddy Date Night, Sweetheart Ball, and a Parents’ Night Supper. As money making projects, they held a slave aucton and a rock-a-thon. The money from the rock-a-thon was donated to the Teen Center fund. 3 1. FHA girls participate in the Rock-a-thon to raise money for the Teen Center 2. The FHA members and their fathers enjoy a game of volleyball on Daddy Date Night. 3. FFA Nets $656 from Fruit Sales This year the Future Farmers of America earned approximately $656. This money was used to sponsor the Creighton Progress Livestock Show and to send delegates to the state and national conventions. The FFA chapter’s main money- making project was selling cases of oranges, apples, and grapefruit. They sold a total of 82 cases. Jerry Hanefeldt sold 97 boxes, which was the largest amount sold by any one individual. Jerry Pospisil sold 45 boxes and Tyon Larson sold 33 boxes. Other activities included the FFA banquet, Parent’s Night, a soup supper, the FFA-FHA Sweetheart Ball, and the FFA-FHA hayrack ride.
