HI TURY ls rt actually true that our twelve years of school are over and that we are alrrost ready for graduatuon9 It rs true Yet rt seems as rf tt wer only yesterday that M ss Loutsa Rosemond taught us our ABC s at the age of sux when we were so trmld Before we knew It we had grown out of trmldrtv learned our ABC s and were promotec to the second grade Mrs Lucrll Lyon contrnued to teach us After learnung to r ad Thrs lS Bob Bob can read etc we stepped nto grade three where Mlss Mutt: lulah Prttard taught us We w re very happy to have Eleanor Murray joan us there I the thrrd grade Wrth tlme sllppung by very fast w soon reached grade four vhere Mlss Ollle Lyor helped us through the hardest grade rn school By that tume we had reached the frfth grade wlth Mlss Margaret Wllson and Mrs Manlyn Mangum to teach us for the next nrne months the thrngs we should know at that age We were very sorry to see JoAnne Thompson leave us to go to Apex also Pat Cates who left us to go to Durham Then one brught day starrng before us was September l when we entered grade srx wrth Mrs John Newell and Mrs Elrzabeth Jeffreys as our teachers We were all heartsuck that year when Mrs Jeffreys had to leave us because of Illness from there Mlss Elrzabeth Emory helped us frnlsh the year Mrs Earnestune McClung was our seventh grade teacher Everyone nn the class was very proud and happy when one of our classmates Sue Peed won the l-lalloween Queen Crown That year at Christmas Mrs Woodrow Taylor took over as teacher Before we realized It the year had sllpped by and we were ready for our last year rn elementary school Then we had a new experrence when we had our frrst man teacher Mr Carmel Wellmon Although we hated to have Kay O Brlant leave us to go to Cary we were very happy to have Ann Rea joan us from Cary We lost Chrlstrne Perry also At the close of that year when we received our report cards and they sand Promoted to grade nme we were excrted and thought rt was only a dream Yet when th frrst day of September came around that fall we realrzed rt was not a dream Mr Bull Joyner and Mr Earl Lamb helped us struggle through that worst year When we came back to old C l-l S the followtng year we had a new faculty mem ber who happened to be our sophomore rnstructor Miss Annette Watson We were very happy to have Bette Thomas joan us from Chapel l-llll Alas' After ten long years we were Juniors' Wuth Mrs Margaret Mclntosh as our teacher we were eager to put on the most fabulous Junror Sensor Banquet ever and to select the most beauttful classrrngs Pat Cates rejoined us that year and Barbara Cuddeback also joined our happy throng We regretted that Wayne Uverton had to leave us after eleven years together Now the top at last' We are dlgnrfred Senlors and worknng hard for the dlplomas vve are hoprng to receuve In May Though many pleasant thoughts have been expressed at havlng frnrshed Readung Rrtlng and Rrthmetrc we are sure that all of us wall feel pangs of regret when we flnally realtze we are leav ng for good and Null not be regrsterrng for classes at dear old C H S anymore HISTGRIANS Nancy Sherron and Buddy Crews A I l . . , Q l I I I .
