H I S T 0 R Y It ' s been twelve long and wonderful years and now, we find ourselves almost ready for Pomp and Circumstance. Makes you feel kind of funny inside, doesn ' t it? In thinking back it seems like only yesterday that we entered Miss Louisa Rosemond ' s room in the first grade. Everything was so new and exciting then but we soon learned the regular routine along with our A B C ' s. As we progressed, each year grew more difficult but we became a little wiser too. Sometimes that Reading, Riting and Rithmetic had to be taught to the tune of a hickory stick sure enough. But all our teachers were so patient and understanding, even in those Trying Times. Each year that passed, some of our classmates left us but others joined our happy throng too. Together we took part in the many school activities that made our elementary days more interesting. Some of the highlights were the music recitals, the Spring Operetta, May Day 1948, and many others. Upon entering high school in the fall of 1950 we really lived up to our names as green freshmen. But after living through that unforgettable week of initiation we soon got into the swing of things with the best of them. We came into our second year with the well deserved title of silly sophomores. We really did have some wonderful times together even if we did drive our teachers nuts doing it. By the time we reached our third year in high school we were very Jolly Juniors looking forward to giving the best Junior-Senior Banquet and choosing our class rings. And now, at last we have reached our long awaited goal and claimed the title of Dignified Sen¬ iors. But we know Miss Aiken has disagreed with us on this point, especially in some of our crazy class meetings. Soon our days here at dear ole C. H. S. will be just memories. When we receive our diplomas the history of our class as a group ends and each member will write his own history by his future deeds. HISTORIANS Jacky Currin Roger Lee Overton
