iiiatorg Ding-dong! Ding-dong! The tones were heard sweet and clear on an early morn¬ ing in September. The bell was proclaiming the opening of the Greedmoor High School for the year 1941. Down the long corridor of the building could be seen boys and girls clinging desperately to their mother ' s hands, as they wended their way to Miss Louisa Rose- mond’s first grade room. But when we, tiny boys and girls then, saw the animal merry-go-round, the toy band instruments, and Miss Rosemond’s smiling face, our mother’s hands were soon forgotten, and we made ourselves at home. During the first year we became acquainted with some of the tools we were to use all our lives to gain knowledge. Reading, ’Riting, and ’Rithmetic, as you know, wer e the basic ones. As we came on grade by grade, many new things entered our lives and we learned how to handle and use more efficiently the tools given us in the first grade. Now, as our last school year draws to a close and we look back over our happy years spent in elementary and high school, we recall many exciting events. One of these events was our graduation into high school. The big moment had finally arrived and we were Freshmen at last. Thrilled and excited over the idea of changing classes, we spent a glorious year under the guidance of Mr, Sidney Ray. As our Sophomore year began, the newness of high school had gone and with Miss Edith Hall, our classroom sponsor, we passed a prosperous year. One of our best years, our Junior year, was yet to come. With plans and ambitions for the best Junior-Senior Banquet and first Prom ever given at Greedmoor High, we enthusiastically entered Mrs. Penn McIntosh’s eleventh grade. During this year our classrings were selected and bought and Junior-Senior, a big success. Our Senior year, what we all have been striving for, is here. As we near the close of our last year at Greedmoor High School, all forty-one of us eagerly await the day when we shall begin our journey on life ' s highway—not as a group, but as individuals, each with separate goals and ambitions for a happy and a successful life.
