You can take pride in a job well done and rest assured that the experiences which you have gained will certainly be beneficial to you in later ufe. ' In addition I certainly want to congratulate you upon your graduation from high school and assure you that we, your parents, friends and school officials, are proud of you and all of your achievements. We hope that you will always continue to call on us when the need arises. Sincerely yours, C. L. Townsend Supt. of Pub. Instruction Dear Class of 1961: You have experienced the best educational oppor- tunities that it was possible for you. We have guided you and provided for you through your early years. It is now time for you to begin to stand on your own, make deci- sions, and accept increasing responsibility for implement- ing these decisions. The major part of your life, the productive part, is ahead of you. What you do with it will be largely up to you. If you achieve success the rewards will be all yours. If you do not succeed you will have to accept the respon- sibilities and disappointments. Think clearly, make in- telligent decisions based on sound reasoning, apply your- self diligently and success will be yours. If you need advice, understanding and assistance we your elders, will always be happy to assist in every way possible. We want you to lead happy, successful lives. If you accomplish this we will feel amply rewarded for all of our efforts. John Braxton, Supervisor of Instruction I- 15- I Q ! xv X ' ' 'Q ..k ,:- :Js's1.:eQ. -,:e.f22.?:?i12,'a., faculi Dear Students: It is difficult to express in this limited space my feelings about all aspects of our school program and student body. I am encouraged by the abundance of good work being done in the various departments and by the enthusiasm shown by many students. The activities of the school are of course secondary in importance to the instructional program but usually a school with strong student activities is strong academically. The Annual Staff, who prepared the material in this yearbook, is an example of one of these impor- tant and useful activities. The result of their hard work will increase ln value to each student as the years pass. There ls no better way to record the memories of your elementary and high school years than through your yearbook. For the members of the Senior Class this year will end an impor- tant phase in your education, We will miss you and your contributions but lt is our sincere hope that you have gained information and ex- periences here that will be beneficlal in your adult lives. The faculty joins me in wishing each of you a successful, useful, and happy future. iSince 2 Z n Harold H. Blanton MRS . WYNELLE WIGINTON Secretary MRS. DIANE OBERHOLTZER B. S. .
