A close l Cl first quarter marked the only tie after the game started. VC'ith 'lay Farrar playing one of his best all around games and Royer hitting very well. the Athenians took a hard defeat at the hands of the Lebanon Tigers. After losing four straight, CHS came storming back with an easy defeat over Rockville. Co-captain john Elmore took high honors with 27 points. Traveling to Tipton we saw the CHS quintet lose another hard fought overtime game, but this time the club showed much improvement. Senior guard, Ron Royer, hit his peak with 28 points. Going into the sectional with a 7-15 record, and playing a team with a 21-ll record, the Athenians found that they had their work cut out for them. A close game down to the wire was to be expected, and a close game it was. After John Elmore and Ron Royer fouled our before going into the overtime doubt was put in the minds of the Cville fans as to the expected victory. Three minutes later the gun sounded the end of the 1955-56 Crawfordsville season with another defeat in an overtime. MANAGERS H011 I-A-Larry Shelton, Chuck Beemer, Vl, Frank liell.
