Washington Of course thus ls all speculatlon but this advancement QQ W-fu l does not seem so Impossible to us as our present progress seems to many C' Q QV, of the older Inhabitants of this crty The new I9I0 bulldmg has expanded untll lt has surrounded and seemmgly choked out the old Canby Building From the dust of the old bulldmg the tolling bell of whlch called many of our older alumnl to the halls of learmng a new structure IS arlsmg This IS the nmety nlne thousand dollar audltorlum together with addltlonal class rooms bullt on to the south ends of the wlngs of the east and west sides of the present bulldmg It has a seating capacity of about twenty five hundred See plan of audltorlum on page 86 J With all these conveniences dramatlcs oratory and debate wlll receive great lmpetus There will be many square yards of wall space to be covered wlth sheep sklns and many new nooks and crannles ID which to place trophy cups These posstbllrtles we are assured will be notlced and the bulldlng wlll not be wrthout adornment Here s to the future and greater progress' Although the members of C H S hase always reallzed that the business men of Craw fordsnlle haxe gnen loyal and whole hearted support to all the organizations and actmtres of the school they hawe been too prone to look upon thls fact as a matter of course We know that few schools hate the backrng that IS grven this school by the bust ness men especlally through the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce The school and the Chamber of Commerce co operated ln organlzmg and supplying a band whlch IS becoming a credlt to our community We were cer tam of obtalnlng a new audltorlum only after the Chamber of Commerce organized to demonstrate to the people the necessity and the utlllty of such a bulldmg These are but two Instances among manv rn whlch the school and the Chamber of Commerce worked together for the general welfare Montgomery County s efticlency and readiness ln war work IS due to thls organlzatlon Vve are glad for this opportumty to show our appreciation to the men who have stood back of us and to the men who ln w ar trmes were ready to put all their energy In w ar work We express the sentiments of the entrre class and every member of the school when we sav that we have ml sed most keenly this year the presence of our gemal Mr Biddle our enthuslastlc Mlss Flsher our gracious Miss Hall our athletic Mr Nrchols our scnentlsts Mr Slms and Mr Jack and our Spanish Teacher Mrss Faglesfield We wlsh them great uccess rn thelr new fields ., A - - - - - - .. - ,.
