H30 Years of Tradition, was the theme for Homecoming 1987-88. To carry out the Tradi- tion on October 23, 1987, each grade level nominated couples to represent their class in the Homecoming Court. The nominees were put on a ballot and on October 29, the classes voted for their final representatives. At the Donut Dunk'em, on November 3, the winners were an- nounced. Each underclass had one couple represent them, while the Seniors had three. On November 6, only one Senior couple, out of the three would be chosen Homecoming King and Queen. That Friday night, at halftime a silence of anticipation fell over the crowd. Then the an- nouncement was made, Jeremy Horton 1987- 881 King and Rebekah Wells Queen. A Week to Remember The action of 1987-88 Homecoming started on November 3, 1987, at the Donut Dunk'em. The Auroras stuffed everyone with donuts and the Chorus and Varsity Cheerleaders performed. Then the 1987-88 Homecoming Court was announced. On November 4, in the Quad, the ex- citement continued. The Court got all wrapped up in the mummy wrap com- petition. And on November 5 they slurped up some fun by eating some whipped cream pies. Throughout the week friends bought each other balloons and carnations to bring spirit to one another. Friday, November 6, was the top of all the fun. The rally at lunch promoted spirit and was fun to watch. Monica Chavez gives giggling Tracie Levengood a token of spirit.
