Qmeabca fion Throughout the world, where the seas are especially turbulent, light- houses exist. They reflect their beams upon danger spots, in order to guide ships safely to their respective destinations. ln this manner, Mr. Richard Bertain, as past advisor to the Class of 1962, will always be remembered as the guiding beacon of the class throughout its first two years at Crawford. An exceptional English teacher and person, Mr. Bertain won a scholarship to Harvard University, in the spring of l96l, in order to further his education. Because of this great honor, he was forced to resign his post as '62 Class Advisor. His departure was marked by sorrow on the part of all who knew him as an advisor, as well as by those who knew only of his warmth and understanding as a teacher. Even though he is gone, we, the graduating class, know that he is with us in thought, his letters to us express faith in our capabilities and pride in our achievements, for he is indirectly responsible for the many honors bestowed upon the Class of '62. In memory of all that he has done for Crawford, and especially for being a friend to all who were associated with him, this yearbook is dedicated to Mr. Richard Bertain. Mr Richard Bertain
