4 L Dedication To the memory of Floyd B. Peters we dedicate this first volume of the Countian. lt was his dream and his labors that helped make the Crawford County Vocational-Technical School become a reality. There was a certainty in this man, who was un- afraid to share himself with othersg unafraid to be- come involved in the candid life of a student. He engaged with vitality his learning and teaching life. He was always admired for the way he ap- proached life's problems, and he was our example. We aspire to be like him. To him we dedicate this book in an attempt to thank him for his devotion to God, to man, and to his country. ,l FLOYD B. PETERS Crawford County Schools Superintendent 1950 - 1966

From the Director: The changing world of today demands training in order to compete for iobs created by the tremendous technological advances and changes. Educational preparation and train- ing hold the key to your place in our changing society. For some, this means training tor the professions, or the world ot business and commerce, and for many it means specialized technical and vocational training. Whatever field of endeav- or a person seems best suited, it is well to keep in mind that All Work is Important. By establishing this Crawford County Area Vocational- Technical School facility, our participating school districts and their forward looking Boards of Education have provid- ed technical and vocational training tor a large segment of our high school pupils. ln addition, many of our adults now have an opportunity to seek training otherwise not available. It has been a distinct pleasure for me to have assisted in the development of our new Vocational-Technical School Facili- ty. lt would be my hope in wishing you well, that you will con- tinue to grow educationally in your chosen trade, and that you will proceed toward attainment of maximum knowledge in your endeavor. .
