This integral part of our school is composed of seven men, elected by the voters of the county, who meet to discuss pertinent school problems and to formulate . . . . . h. h plains for the further development of educatlonal opportunities in the community ig schools of Cherokee, Arma, and Arcadia. Their experience as executives and their ard- ent concern for the interests of the students makes them indeed the chiefs of our council fire. The services they render to our Wigwam are deeply appreciated. llldllli lmlmmlmmmlmlmnnmnmlimn ,, 5 .41U'1Yul,m fam - rincqaa pay file! er I Congratulations to the Class of 1946 on having attained your goal through patient preserverance! After adapting themselves to new conditions, they elected freshmen class officers. Chosen is president was Dorothy Peternellg vice president, Ralph Kimmel: secretary, Charles Rondellig and treasurer, Glen Ward Clugston. Luella Watson was chosen as drum majorette and won first place as twirler at the spring music festival held at K.S.T.C. Bob Beg-ando and Luella Watson reigned as king and queen candidates. Class sponsors selected were Mrs. Irene Stevenson and Mr. Joe Rondelli. In the fall of 1944, thirty-two students, growing in importance, began another term at C.C.H.S. Luella Watson continued as drum majorette and was selected as cheer leader. The following officers were chosen for this term: president, Jeanetta. Buck: vice president, Raymond Hinkle: secre- tary, Glen Ward Clugston: treasurer, Ruthevelyn Wilkins Appearing as ldng and queen candidates were Glen Ward Clugston and Jeanetta Buck. Mrs. Pauline Heller and Mrs.. Alberta Bertino sponsored the year's activities. Reduced to twenty-nine, this ambitious group entered C.C.H.S. in the fall of '45 as juniors. Finding that their responsibilities were greater, they met the challenge and brought honors to the junior class. With the leadership of Bill Neer as president, Luella Watson as vice-president, Carol Jean Pistole as secretary, and Ruthevelyn Wilkins as treasurer, they rated well in many activities. 'I'he supersalesmanship of the group was best dis- played in Annual sales which placed Marie Fornell and Warren Clugston on the coveted throne. Four class members won trusted G. R. cabinet seats. In dramatic ability, this class will be remembered for its presentation of 'Tll Explain Everything. The junior-senior banquet, the climax of the social activities, was as successful as the turkey ticket sales which made it possible. Mem- bss of the class have taken an active part in the Pep Club, G. R. and music organizations. This group was ably counseled by Miss Marion Ludlow and Mrs. Charlene Webb. Such a successful year in the Wigwam predicts success for the futru'e seniors of 1947. 691 fa.: A Lggl :,. N? We took pride E' in the selection of able class officers, electing Joe Bob Collins president 9' V4 Mary Jean Ulery, vice-president: Walter Otto, secretary: and Charles L- Copenhaver, treasurer. With the help of Mrs. Irene Stevenson and Mrs. F Nora Knight as class sponsors, we soon made a niche for ourselves in this institution. Three lettermen-Charles Copenhaver, Walter Otto, and Joe Bob Collins...emerged at the end of the athletic season. Ruth Maninger took the throne as queen of the Crawford: Donald Clugston was our king candidate. In lniusicafl talent this class was represented by Don Ward and Joe ' Bob Col 'ns as members of the boys' quartette. Ruth Maninger was a mem- .. ,. ber of the girls'quartette, and eight freshies became members of the band. September, 1945, found this group of older, wiser students enrolling as sophomores. Offsetting the loss of five former members, the class gained four new enrollees-Betty Comstock, Harold Burns, Clyde Connor, and Marcel Deboutez. We chose Charles Copenhaver as our president: Ruth Maninger, vice-president: Clyde Connor, secretaryg and Margaret Ball, treasurer. Our queen candidate was Margaret Ball, the king, Harold Burns. Hamid Burns, Walter Otto, Charles Copenhaver, and Clyde Connor eamed berths on the football squad. Mrs. Rose Rice and Mr. C. A. Goodhall, our sponsors, led us through another prosperous year. C. H. S. for a high school education. Wide-eyed, eager to gain knowledge, and having a great capacity for getting into the wrong rooms, we soon became ac- customed to life in the Wigwam. To guide us on the untried paths of our freshman year, we selected Billy Lucchi as our class presidentg Eli Peak, vice-president, Nadinc Blazic, secretaryg and Deloris Mason, treasurer. Maxine Wilkerson was chosen queen candidate to represent our group in the Year Book contest. Keith Ester reigned as freshman king candidate, with David Shaw as business manager. Glenna Thompson brought honor to our class by being cast in the all-school play, Nine Girls. In athletic honors this class can point with pride to David Shaw, Joe Lapping, and Bllly Jones for their work in both football and basketball. In football Jack Collins, Eli Peak, and Tony Ricci reported for daily scrimmage. The group who lettered this year includes Billy Lucchi, David Shaw, and .Joe Lapping. Basketball found these freshmen, Billy Lucchi and Keith Ester, carrying their share of the load. Our class, too, shows prom se in music ability with thirteen girls and thirteen boys enrolled in glee club. Keith Ester was chosen as a member of the boys' quartette. In pep club fourteen girls furnished vim from this freshman group. Our class will be long remembered for its verdant freshman as- sembly with its green ties and hair bows. Our class party, November 27, began the social whirl in C.C.H.S. This freshman class, sponsored by Mr. Paul Lee and Mrs. Pauline Heller, will be favorably heard from again.
