Placid as he appears on the outside Jack is a man capable of profound emotions, but he puts a stress, both in theory and in practice on the duty of self control, believing that- God approves the depth and not the tumult of the soul. This has been the one great factor that has caused Theodore to strive for the goal of success. She has a deeply religious character and always aims for right.
