The 1960 Basketball Banquet was attended by approximately seventy varsity and JV basketball players and dates, special invited guests and the Comettes who put it on. The master of ceremonies for the evening was John Caster and the special speaker was Dr. Edwin Durno of Medford. The boys who received awards for outstanding playing during the basketball season were Chuck Turner, most valuable player and rebound trophies, Dennis Edwards, sportsmanship trophy, Earl Cooper, field goal average, Dave Sharp, free throw trophy. ftx

Ei fxx n Patsy Charley headed the biggest event sponsored by the Girls' League this year. She had the job of being chairman of the MOTHERS DAY TEA. The theme Alice in Wonderland was carried out very well throughout the entire program. The Lavaliers provided the entertainment by singing the theme song. As the event opened, Patsy Charley introduced the girls of the month and then she was presented with the May Girl of the Month disk. 'Q-fi' 'H , Q xi 'ff ' A ,, . As the program progressed, Shirley McAllister, president of Girls' League , presided over the installation of the new G. L. officers for 1961. For the first part of the style show, some of the girls modeled clothes they had made them- selves. The rest of the review was sponsored by Rath's. Many lovely clothes were shown including a beautiful bridal gown modeled by popular Pattie Straus. Other models included Terry Turner, Ellen Ward, Becky Ferrell, Rae Burritt and Elaine McKay.
